Yes, it is a very popular tourist place and is thronged by thousands of tourists from all over the world, which might make people wonder about the lost peace and serenity. But when the evening comes and you get to witness the beauty of the sunset, it leaves one stunned. One gets to know what the beauty of nature means, when you sit by the lake on the peripherals and feel calm and surreal as you feel the cool breeze from the lake in the backdrop of the sunset. As far as the historical backdrop is concerned, Maharana Udai Singh II extended the lake, by flooding Picholi village, which gave the lake its name. This shallow lake is 4km long and 3km wide. But, one thing to be wary of is that the lake is home to crocodiles, which makes it a bad option for swimming or wading. A simple boat ride is the very best way to enjoy the beauty of the lake.The lake also hosts many palaces on its shore and amidst it as well. The City Palace complex extends nearly 1km along the lake’s eastern shore. We started with Jagdish Temple and went to lake pichola for boating. Boating was awesome, you will enjoy good boat ride with spectacular view of city palace, Taj palace, other hotels. Later in day we went to famous hathi pol bazzar to do shopping. I don't wanted to hear ever that you didn't took me for shopping. So you know guys it's an important itenarary you can't skip. Post that we went to see cultural show at bagore ki haveli. I would recommend this since this is something you will not see usually. Unique show created for tourist only. Last famous destination was ambrai restaurant for dinner. It so famous, I literally saw people waiting 30 mins to 1 hour for dinner. Approach roads are very narrow. So we decided to park it in public and walk down to restaurant. What's written in social media is absolutely true. It has corner view of city palace and lake palace, awesome food and good staff. Prior booking is important otherwise it's hard to find seat. Huge relaxation after a day long journey. Tip: Buy ticket online / from counter early to avoid line for cultural show. Car goes till bagore ki haveli.

This city has a history of kings and battles and some brave warriors...so a trip to this place is incomplete without a visit to the city palace & haldi ghati. Accommodation in this city is very traditionally designed with ethnic interiors in most of the hotels across all categories- you have palaces and city hotels across all prices. And when it comes to accommodation how can we forget the iconic properties here which are worth a watch even if it's beyond ur affordability- Udai Vilas, Taj palace, Lalit udaipur. So visit this place for the Rajasthani food, palaces and lakes and experience what it is to be in Rajasthan- Rajao ka sthan.

Next thing take a Boat ride at Lake Pichola, second among the two famous lakes in Udaipur. The Pichola Lake is the centre point of the old city and is famous for many restaurants established on the banks of the lake. Timings:9am to 6pm, all days. The boat ride is for 25 minutes. There are special sunset boat rides that take place around half an hour before the expected time of sunset every day. Entry fees:Price for a boat ride at Lake Pichola is ₹400 per person for adults and ₹200 for children. There are special sunset boat rides that cost ₹700 per person for adults and ₹400 for children. Other activities:Gangaur ghat near Lake Pichola is a popular ghat and right next to it Bagore ki Haveli. A palace you can visit during the day and one that plays host to fascinating dance performances every evening. A dance show, Dharohar Dance Show, is generally an hour and half long and starts at 7pm daily. The cost is ₹60 for Indians and ₹100 for foreigners. The camera fees is ₹100.
