The culture, the nature, the vistas, and the experiences – everything culminate to create an unforgettable package of happiness. As a traveller who has always been drawn to the beauty and tranquillity of Bali, I was excited to embark on a new adventure during my recent trip to the island. My journey took me from the lush, verdant landscapes of Ubud to the rugged, coastal terrain of Uluwatu, where I had the pleasure of staying at a designer hotel for two nights, and indulge in the best of nature and the best of luxury.
The journey from Ubud to Uluwatu was a breathtaking experience in itself. As I made my way through the winding roads that cut through the dense forests and picturesque rice paddies of central Bali, I felt a sense of unwinding and relaxation that was hard to put into words. The natural beauty of the island, combined with the warmth and hospitality of the local people, made for a truly unforgettable experience.
But it was only when I arrived at the Bulgari Resort in Uluwatu that I truly felt like I had entered a whole new world. The resort is perched on a steep cliff overlooking the Indian Ocean, and the vistas are simply breathtaking. The rugged coastline, crashing waves, and endless horizon made for an otherworldly experience that was completely different from anything I had seen before in Bali.
Despite being only a short distance from Ubud, Uluwatu felt like a completely different world. The landscape was more rugged, the climate was warmer, and the vibe was more relaxed and laid back. It was the perfect place to unwind and let go of all the stresses and worries of daily life.
Located in the heart of Bali's Uluwatu region, Bulgari Resort is a paradise that offers luxurious views of the Indian Ocean, posing as an intimate and exclusive destination for guests seeking privacy and opulence. In short, it is mostly about celebrities who are tired of being chased by paparazzi even in remote islands. Last year, in July 2022, I had the pleasure of staying at this world-class resort for two nights and was blown away by the level of service and attention to detail that I experienced. It was honestly beyond what I had imagined.
From the moment I arrived at Bulgari Resort, I was welcomed with open arms by the staff who went above and beyond to make sure that my stay was nothing short of perfect. The premier room that I stayed in was spacious and elegantly furnished with a king-sized bed, a large seating area, and an en-suite bathroom with a luxurious bathtub. The highlight of the room, however, was the balcony that overlooked the Indian Ocean, which provided me with stunning views of the surrounding natural beauty.
One of the standout experiences during my stay was the transcendental spa treatment that I had at the resort's world-class spa. The treatment was a holistic approach that aimed to rejuvenate the mind, body, and soul through a combination of aromatherapy, massage, and meditation. The therapists were highly skilled and provided a personalized experience that was tailored to my specific needs. The Italian-inspired Il Ristorante was a particular highlight, serving up delectable dishes that showcased the very best of Italian cuisine. The restaurant's terrace seating area provided breathtaking views of the Indian Ocean, which made for a truly memorable dining experience.
The Sangkar restaurant at the Bulgari Resort in Uluwatu is renowned for its exceptional cuisine, which draws inspiration from traditional Indonesian and Balinese recipes. Each dish is meticulously prepared using only the freshest and highest-quality ingredients, and the menu showcases a wide range of flavours and textures that are sure to delight even the most discerning of palates. From succulent grilled seafood to flavorful curries and aromatic rice dishes, Sangkar is the perfect place to indulge in the rich and vibrant culinary traditions of Bali.
The Bulgari Resort's natural beauty was also something that I couldn't get enough of during my stay. The resort is surrounded by lush greenery and is perched on a cliff overlooking the ocean, which provided a stunning backdrop for everything from early morning yoga sessions to sunset cocktails by the pool. The resort's infinity pool was the perfect spot to soak up the sun and take in the view, while the private beach was an idyllic spot to relax and unwind.
As someone who has always been drawn to natural surroundings, the Bulgari Resort's location on a cliff in Uluwatu was an absolute dream come true. The resort is nestled amongst tropical foliage and surrounded by the Indian Ocean, making for a truly idyllic setting that felt like paradise. Waking up to the sound of the waves crashing against the rocks and the warm sun on my face was a truly magical experience that I will always treasure.
Another unforgettable aspect of my stay at the Bulgari Resort was taking a ride on the inclinator, which takes guests 500 feet down a steep cliff to the beach below. The inclinator itself is an impressive feat of engineering, with its sleek design and stunning views of the ocean. The ride down was thrilling and gave me a sense of excitement and anticipation for what lay ahead.
Once I reached the beach, I was struck by the sheer beauty of the natural surroundings. The white sand beach was lapped by crystal clear waters that were perfect for swimming and snorkelling. I spent hours lounging on the beach, soaking up the sun and taking in the stunning views of the Indian Ocean. It was a truly tranquil and peaceful experience that left me feeling recharged and rejuvenated.
But, I cannot talk about my stay at the Bulgari without mentioning the exceptional service provided by my personal butler, Rose. From the moment I arrived at the resort, Rose was there to greet me with a warm smile and ensure that all of my needs were met throughout my stay.
Rose was an absolute delight to be around and her attention to detail was second to none. She was always available to assist with any request, and her friendly and accommodating demeanour made me feel like a VIP guest at all times.
One of the most memorable experiences I had with Rose was when she drove me around the resort in her buggy. It was such a fun and enjoyable way to get around, and she was more than happy to show me all of the amazing facilities and amenities that the resort had to offer. Whether it was taking me to one of the gourmet restaurants or chauffeuring me to the spa, Rose was always there to ensure that my experience was nothing short of perfect.
Overall, my stay at the Bulgari Resort was nothing short of a dream. The level of luxury, attention to detail, and stunning natural beauty of the resort were truly unmatched. From the world-class spa treatments to the delectable dining options, every aspect of my stay was simply unforgettable, which created an unforgettable holiday that left me feeling relaxed, rejuvenated, and inspired.
