Never in my entire life had I imagined that I would taste something which will become unforgettable for the rest of my life. But that’s the fun of traveling to one place to another. You have so many tales and experiences to share with others. While traveling to Ubud I had this experience where I tasted the world’s most expensive coffee ‘Kopi Luwak’. And to my shock the coffee is made from the poop.
I was shocked to know that someone’s poop can be so expensive but it is and people love to drink it. All kinds of thoughts started running in my mind and the first thing I thought was should I?
Traveling to Ubud, the most popular and Instagrammable destination of Indonesia, I stopped by a coffee plantation and see how this is actually made. Here they also give you ‘Kopi Luwak’ coffee to drink.

So, when we entered the plantation a pretty girl approached to me and asked to follow her. Well dressed in typical Balian dress and a sarong wrapped on her waist, the girl showed me the process step by step and explained the whole procedure. With Luwak coffee gaining popularity, Indonesia has grown as a most popular tourist destination.
Kopi Luwak is the world most expensive coffee and it is made from the poop of a civet, a catlike creature. Civets are given Arabica coffee beans which they partially digest and then poop out. A cup of Kopi Luwak is priced between $35- $100 (in Indian currency Rs 2,500- Rs 7,500).
Then the question arises, whether it is worth to give it a try. So, before you rush for a conclusion, please wait and read that why this coffee is so costly and whether it is good. I would say yes because the civet is actually clever and only picks those coffee cherries which are most ripe. Second, their digestion changes the structure of protein which again removes the some acidity properties.

When my tour was completed, I was offered this coffee. I know you all must be thinking whether I drank it or not. Yes, I had the ‘unforgettable coffee sip of my life’.
