For the Bali itinerary that I created, I decided to do a North trip from Ubud. On my 10 hour Ubud tour, I made sure to see all of the best things to do in Ubud. I went to Lempuyeng Temple, Tirta Gangga, and Goa Gajah. I left Ubud Centre at 4 am to start the long drive to our points of interest. The drive was on mainly one-lane winding roads in complete darkness. Therefore, I recommend hiring a driver to make this trip. In addition, there is the added benefit that I could nap in the back seat haha.

I went with the company Bali Safest Driver. Panji is the owner of the company and he is excellent! He responds very quickly to inquiries or any questions regarding his tours. They were very punctual, friendly and most importantly safe. As such, I felt comfortable leaving my personal items in their vehicle while I toured around (THIS IS HUGE!).

They offer airport pickups, tour packages or you can always customize your own tour. They are super flexible!! I definitely would go this route again with a private driver if I visit Bali again. It was worth it just for the flexibility and creating my own personal Ubud itinerary.

Something to keep in mind, entrance fees are not included in the price of the tour. A lot of companies will offer you an all included tour with set destinations and a set price (entrance fees, driver, gas, parking, water). I found it more reasonable to pay for a driver with Bali Safest Driver, set my own destinations and pay my own entrance fees.

The Ubud tour started at 4 AM. Yes... this is an early start but it is the only way to beat the rush. TRUST ME it is worth it!

4:00 AM → Pick-Up from your accommodation 6:00 AM → Lempuyang Temple Bali/Gateway To Heaven (Entrance fee: donation at your discretion. Sarong rental fee: 10k per person) 9:00 AM → Tirta Gangga Water Palace Bali (Entrance fee: 40k per person, Fish food: 5k for 3 bags) 13:00 PM → Goa Gajah Temple/Elephant Cave Bali (Entrance fee: 50k per person, Sarong fee: included in entrance fee) 15:00 PM → Sacred Monkey Forest Sanctuary (Monkey Forest entrance fee: 80k per person)

I thought Panji's service was great and unique. He would always ask what time I wanted to start the tour at. When researching for drivers, I noticed that they all have their own set start times. However, when communicating with other companies, I never got the same flexible feeling like I did with Panji. Alternatively, with Panji everything about the Ubud tour was up to me, start time, end time, destinations, lunch stop or no lunch stop.

This was honestly such a great way to see the top things to do in Ubud. I absolutely loved this service and it made for a perfect Bali itinerary!
