Bali, till date, has been my number one destination. Each and every corner feels like a whole new place. While Ubud has yoga barns, rice fields, monkey forest etc, Seminyak is more contemporary and modern with pubs, high fashioned stores and surfing schools. The food is even more diverse with Balinese and international flavours that will find a way to make your tummy happy!
These five are my favourite camera-ready spots in the Island of the Gods :
1. THE AVOCADO FACTORY
Every dish is composed of avocado : breakfast options, smoothie bowls, dips, tacos, and desserts. We ate a hearty brunch overlooking a rice field and there is nothing about the place that we didn't enjoy. Made with so much love that it's fresh, healthy and unbelievably tasty. Calling out all avocado lovers to fall in love with this factory!
Recommended : Enjoy your meal at the open seating area in front of the rice field but avoid if it's too sunny.
Opening hours : 7am – 5pm
Price for two : Rs 1,200
2. KYND COMMUNITY
This Pinch-me-cute pink shelter is the most photographed plant-based cafe in Seminyak. Menu features an abundance of fresh juices, smoothies, burgers and salad bowls. We went around 8am and within half an hour there was a long waiting line. Vegan food never tasted so good!
Recommended : Make sure you visit early to get a good spot and order their famous smoothie bowls with customised fruit letters on them.
Opening hours : 6am - 4pm
Price for two : Rs 1400
3. LA LAGUNA
Eye candy tapas bar and restaurant presents bohemian style with wooden furniture, floral printed cushions, gypsy carriage, multi-coloured bean bags and a 30m log bridge over a lagoon that leads to the beach. The concept is extraordinarily different than any other place in Bali. I honestly found the food menu expensive with limited options but the environment, music and drinks covered this flaw. If you're on a budgeted trip then get some cocktails and embrace the hippy vibe. Come on a Sunday to catch the gypsy market selling vintage and cheap products.
Recommended : Make a reservation online, get a tarot reading (Rs 440 per person) and visit during sunset.
Opening Hours : 11am to 11pm
Price for two : Rs 3000
4. FOLK POOL & GARDENS
Don’t miss Folk Pool & Gardens if you happen to be wandering around Ubud on a hot sunny day. Take a dip in the water, sip some refreshments and have delightful treats at the tables in the pool (I know, right!). Visit during sunset and enjoy a cocktail at their swim up bar or sunbathe on pool floaties. They are famous for their Balinese mezze platter, sourdough toast, churros, pork sliders and pizza. To make things romantic, have dinner by the pool and watch a movie on the big screen which is showcased every night for free!
Recommended : Book the day bed online (private cabana for Rs 1216) which includes unlimited water, fruit skewers, mini snacks and 15% off on the told amount.
Opening hours : 9am – 10pm
Price for two : Rs 1700
5. NEON PALMS
Shop, wine, dine! Neon Palms is located on the second level above the famous Bali Boat Shed boutique. Place is beautifully decorated with animal safari themed wallpapers and big glass windows over looking the Seminyak street. 100 points for the ambience and food which made us feel so colourful and chirpy!
Recommended : Carry extra cash to shop at the boutique and take a stroll by the beach which is 2mins walking distance.
Opening hours : 9am – 5pm
Price for two : Rs 1000
