Of our Euro trip we kept one day specially to explore this famous and beautiful village near Amsterdam. This is straight out of picture post card with well maintained old houses and Windmills. One can reach there from Amsterdam city easily...either by cab, public transport or even train.
There are seven museums there. Strolling the village costs nothing but all museums have entry charges and open and close at particular time. There are many cute little shops that sell antiques and souvenirs. One museum and gift shop will attract you in particular....Hand made wooden shoes or clogs. They r in different shapes n sizes...some quirky ones and some cute ones
After exploring the entire village and clicking to our hearts content we realised that its lunch time . We came back to a beautiful restaurant located in the village and had some mouthwatering salad ,fries( Netherlands is said to be place where french fries first originated in Europe) and some pizza with fresh juices.
After that we decided to roam around a bit and njoy its beautiful vibes some more. Though there were many tourists the place was quite and serene which added to its beauty.
Now was time to go back to Amsterdam and enjoy its night life. I would recommend that anyone visiting Netherlands should keep one day spare for Zaanse Schans... believe me u will not be disappointed 😊
