Winding into the wilderness - Wayanad and Kozhikode

I have always wondered about the essential ingredients which when put together make a trip special. Few parameters which always pop up are: the means of travel, the quality of places, company, and the nature part of it. I believe this was the trip which had everything. We rode through 3 forest reserves, had rains for company in one of them. Beautiful landscapes gave us company throughout and one of the very few places where the ends almost always complimented the means. If this was not enough, we had the beautiful curves of ghat roads which looked as if they were designed to please the riders. Wayanad has everything that you would want from your special trip.

But still we thought we missed something. We had an extra day and had the options of lazing around all day or go for a quick trip. To our amazement, we only had to go 80 kms to find the serenity of a sea beach. Kozhikode, or Calicut as it is fondly called, was waiting for us with heavy rains and mesmerizing views.
