Undoubtedly, Triund has been in the bucket list for many. Not just because of its difficulty levels, but for giving the visitors, a taste of camping in the hills without having to struggle much.

View from Triund Top...

Having said so, the trail does not stop here. It goes way ahead and eventually ends up at the level of Indrahar Pass and Moon Peak.

Although, the trek to both these aforementioned places, certainly requires perseverance and stamina. It is certainly a tall ask for any first timer.

But the good news is, a trip to Snow Line is barely 3.5 km from Triund Top and would take around 2 hours at most to complete. Inspite the the distance, the route is treacherous and mostly steep.

The rocky formation leading to Snow Line and furthermore to Laka Got is filled with steep rocks and narrow trail path. The rewarding views near the destination as well as the trail is beyond words.

The good news is! There are about 3 camping sites ahead.

The first one is the oldest of the lot, Snow Line Cafe.

The second one is where I stayed, Himalayan Quest Camp.

The third one is Dhauladhar Cafe, just over the ridge of Laka Got.

I stayed at Himalayan Quest Camp, but explored the other three Cafe in my time at Laka. Here are some pictures and facts about these places,

1. Snow Line Cafe: The oldest Cafe of the lot and the first one in the list. Located about a kilometer or so from Taranga Wali Mata Mandir, the place is perfect for camping with a wide space in the open. Tent is available on rent and food items such as Tea, Maggie and Veg Meals are available. One can purchase packaged drinking water and other dry food items here for marginally higher rates. As far I remember, (so don't quote me on this), if you carry your tent, there is no separate charge for setting up near the Cafe.

2. Himalayan Quest Camp: I stayed for a day at this camp, which is located barely some 200 meters from Snowline Cafe. The approach road goes a bit downhill from the previous one and it's located at the edge of the ridge. The breathtaking view of Dhauladhars and Indrahar Pass is worth every moment. Much like the previous Cafe, every other food mentioned, are available here. Same applies for camping means too.

3. Dhauladhar Cafe: The last Cafe of the lot. It takes about 30 minutes at most by foot to reach the place. The breathtaking trail from Himalayan Quest Camp, takes you for a walk on the ridge and just on the base of Indrahar and Lahesh Caves. This is a paradise for wide angle lens users and there is no way a person would afford to miss the mesmerizing views. Much like the other two Cafe's staying and food rates and rules are similar.

Dhauladhar Cafe

I heard a word about a Cafe ahead of Dhauladhar Cafe, but I don't have substantial information about them. In all means, these 3 Cafes are worth your stay and provides remarkable views of Dhauladhars, plus an overall quaint environment. If you are set to witness a time of your life without the hustle or internet, you have these three amazing Cafe, just ahead of Triund.

Happy Traveling :)
