In this time of quarantine, lets cherish some amazing memories where I can share my experiences and y'all can read and enjoy it.

Lohagad is also known as the iron fort. It is situated in the Western ghats of Maharashtra. The best time to visit this place is in the monsoon season. It is situated neighboring to the Visapur fort and close to the Lonavala hill station.

I had visited this place in September 2015 with my office friends. It was one of the best time we visited this place. We had started off from Pune Hinjewadi. We had taken a train from Pune to Lonavala station and then continued walking towards the fort from the base itself. Trekking to Lohagad fort was not an easy task but with friends it does become one of the best experience.

The climate was at its best moist, raining, cool breeze and what not. On our way we came across a waterfall at the foot hill. It was mesmerizing and we had some great time over there. Playing, splashing water on each other and capturing some memories.

Through our journey towards the fort we had a lot of fun dancing in the middle of the road, screaming, shouting, teasing each other, clicking pictures, enjoying the climate, enjoying the beauty of nature and getting wet in rains and just being us. We also came across some scenic view where we rested for sometime. We also came across a river flowing near to the fort.

The fort has five huge gates to enter, Ganesh Darwaja, Maha Darwaja, Nana Darwaja, Human Darwaja and Trimbakeswar Darwaja. The gates are still standing strong. The most difficult part came while climbing the stairs of the fort.As it was raining heavily we were not able to capture things and also the stairs had become slippery but each and everyone of us help each other to reach till the top. We finally managed to reach the top and saw a breathtaking view which till today cannot be forgotten. As you enter from the gates, you can see a temple, a small lake and some beautiful architecture of the fort.

It was one of the best trekking experience each one of us had. We were tired but on reaching the top and seeing the view our tiredness had completely gone.

Precautions:

No risky poses or selfies

No littering

No swimming in any water storage tanks

No harming any animals on the way

No scribbling on the walls of the fort.

Glimpse from the amazing trekking of Lohagad.
