We are pleased to announce the 2014 dates for the Volcano and Herp Tour to Indonesia.                                                                                       

Of all the ~17000 islands in Indonesia, Java is the 3rd largest island and has around 45 active volcanoes. Our expedition is about hiking two stratovolcanoes and herping around the Javanese and the Denpasar Islands. Mount Bromo and Kawah Ijen are two prominent active volcanoes in Java. Hiking these two volcanoes is a treat for nature lovers and a photographer’s paradise. Announcing the "Volcano Tour" of Indonesia.

Travelling is so diverse, some travel for a hike, some to witness people and culture across the globe, some for food, some for photography, some to witness an otherworldly like landscape and some for shopping…….Indonesia is for all types of travelers and for all age groups.

What makes it special - we are the locals, we know the language, we have been living next doors to these volcanos. At Burn Boundaries we take the road less travelled, we take you to places where there is no path and leave a trail.

Surabaya means – The courage to face the any danger or any difficulties. This spirit makes the city what it is today. With a population of 3Million, it is considered as the commercial capital of east Indonesia. In addition to the many attraction the “Pet Market” of Surabaya is a host to many of the worlds rarest animals / reptiles & birds. This will be an exciting place to visit & the rarest of the breeds which probably you will never get to see in your life again. Reach Surabaya from Bangalore by Mid noon, we start for Malang & we stay at malang for the night

The coolest, most relaxed place you would visit. A peaceful town of malang is known for its slow pace & birds. Has the largest bird market in east java. This will be our transit stop for Mt.Bromo. Here we visit the local village & markets, Do Parasailing (on own cost) Visit local village houses & hike upto the sunset point

It is believed that the Roro Anteng and Joko Seger (king & queen) family made a commitment to offer their last child to the god as an offering if the volcano blessed them with childern. This ritual was broken by the family & they decided to run away. At the time when the family was trying to hide, there was a sudden volcano eruption which swalled ONLY the last son of the Kesuma. This crater is where you would be visiting. It is highly believed that what ever you wish for here with your heart it will come true. Hike to Mt.Bromo we get to wake up to watch the the sun rising across the beautiful valley with the volcano as your backdrop. This will be your best Photo pop you can think of in this region. What you see in pics is what you will experience here. The Sunrise point is an unique experience you can get only here. Walk across the "Sand Sea" & reach the "Crater of Mt.Bromo". An unique experience to walk upto the top of a volcano mountain Hike upto Mt.Bromo on day 2 evening & sleep on top of the hill. Get up early for the sunrise experience , hike down to base by 230pm & head to malang for lunch. Quickly after lunch head for Surabaya & take a night train to Banyuwangi.

The true Nature & cultural capitol of East Java, Considered to have the best landscapes with mountains, forests & beaches. Very few places can boost of such sight. Here we will be welcomed to a completely different experience. It is said that the traditional dances of Banyuwangi will mesmarise you. We will try & get you a glimpse of the same Reach Banyuwangi in the morning, Take rest for the day with local sigh seeing, Move to Kawah ijen by evening for a visual spectacles of rising flames & the volcano.

Ijen Crater is the biggest crater lake in Java. The sulfur crater lake lies between a natural dams of deeply etched rock. It is 200 meters deep and contains about 36million cubic meters of steaming acid water, shrouded in a smelling swirling sulfur cloud. Inside the crater the different color and size of stones are found. Indeed the crater of Ijen is beautiful garden of stone as well. The principal attraction at Ijen is the large Crater Lake that has much sulfur, which lies hidden between sheer walls of deeply furrowed rock at more than 200 meters. The Ijen crater itself lies at approximately 2,300 meters above sea level. It forms a twin volcano with the now extinct Mount Merapi. The enormous Crater Lake, which is 200 meters deep and covers an area of more than meters, a million square meters, contains about 36 million cubic meters of steaming, acid water. Reach Ijen by late evening & this night you will be awake all night to witness a visual spectacle like never before in your life. Be prepared to stay awake all night, As such you will not even know when the night started & when the day break happened. Get down from the crater early in the morning, reach Banyuwangi after breakfast. Sleep for the rest of the day & visit local places in the evening.

A tour to Indonesia is incomplete without visiting Bali !.............so the following day we take a short ferry ride across the Bali Sea to reach Denpasar Island and by road to Bali. Do you need an introduction to Bali, The best of the beaches, the culture. One of the most exciting tourist destinations you can come across. We will have an optional water sports - Scuba / parasailing / Banana ride etc etc, Let your hair loose for the party capital of Asia. First evening – we will visit local places for herping Second Day – Local sight seeing & Party (own cost) Third day – Water sports (own cost)
