18 kilometers from Rishikesh lies Rajaji National Park, home to the Asian Elephant along with various other reptiles, mammals and bird species.
Although it's not as scenic or dense as the other major national parks, there is a good chance that you would have some sightings of birds, deer and boars.
Cost of Permits :
Indians: Rs.150/person
Foreigners: Rs.600/person
Cost of Gypsy :
Rs.2800 (available from park gate)
There is no requirement of it, if you have a hired cab with you. If it's your own car, take care of it.(I am recommending you to take the gypsy)
Vehicle Entry Charges :
Rs.250/entry of vehicle for Indians
Rs.500/entry of vehicle for foreigners.
Cost of Guide :
Rs.300 for general guide
Rs.600- Rs.1500 for experienced Bird and wild life guide.
Timings :
The entry timings are within sunrise to sunset, two times a day.
Morning: 6 am to 9 am
Evening: 3 pm to 6 pm
Important Information :
Additional charges are levied for cameras.
Student discount is only possible if it is a certified institutional educational Tour.
Children above 3 years old are charged for entry in the park.
Still cameras are free for Indians and Rs.50 for foreigners.
A local guide is a must with every vehicle for Rs.300/drive.
