Trek to Valley of Flowers and Hemkund Sahib
Day 1 (10/08/2019) - We started early in the morning from Haridwar Railway station. We drove to Pandukeshwar from Haridwar via Devprayag, Rudraprayag, Karanprayag, Gopeshwar, Nandprayag, Joshimath. Devprayag is a holy city which is the sangam of the Bhagirathi and Alaknanda rivers, after this the rivers become the holy Ganges. We arrived at Pandukeshwar by the late evening and checked into a Hotel Rughuveer and had our dinner & overnight stay. Needed a good night’s sleep as next morning our trek to Ghangaria Base camp starts from Pulna.

Day 2 (11/08/2019): Drive from Pandukeshwar to Pulna (Approx 5 kms drive) Trek from Pulna – Ghangaria (9 kms/ 4-5 hours)
The actual trek starts here. Started our day at 6:30 am to Ghangaria village, which is the base camp for the two treks. The total trek distance from Pulna to Ghangaria is about 9 km. There are shared cabs that go to 5 km from Pandukeshwar to Pulna check post.
Upon arrival at Ghangria checked into a hotel. Explored the surroundings in the evening. Dinner and overnight stay at Hotel.

Day 3 (12/08/2019) - Difficulty level : Moderate, Height : 11000-13000 ft., Best Visit time : July-August
Trek from Ghangaria – Valley Of Flowers and back to Ghangaria (10 Kms /6-8 hours)
After an early breakfast we started our trek towards the Valley Of Flowers (3,858 m) from Ghangaria. The valley is an enchanting sight with an impressive wildflowers like Geranium, Marsh, Alpine etc. The valley is 10 km long, 2 km wide, and is divided by the Pushpawati stream, into which several tiny streams and waterfalls merge. The Valley of Flowers is a world heritage site and a part of the famous Nanda Devi Biosphere. After absorbing the beauty of the Valley Of Flowers we trek back to Ghangaria. Dinner & overnight stay at the hotel.
Trek to Valley of Flowers and Hemkund Sahib
Day 4 & 5 (13th & 14th Aug'19) : Trek from Ghangaria to Hemkund and back to Ghangaria (12Kms/ 6-7 Hours)
In the morning we trek to Hemkund Sahib (4,329 m - World's highest Gurudwara) from Ghangaria. This was quite a steep climb. In the Sikh holy book, The Guru Granth Sahib, the Sikh Guru Gobind Singh recounts that in a previous life, he meditated on the shores of a lake surrounded by seven snowcapped mountains now recognized as Hemkund. Late afternoon trek back to Ghangaria and Dinner & overnight stay at the hotel.
Next day trek from Ghangaria – Pulna (9 km / 4-5 hours ) – Pulna to Pandukeshwar ( Approx 5 kms drive)
We trek back to Pandukeshwar and from here we drive to Joshimath. Upon arrival at Pandukeshwar / Joshimath check into a hotel. Rest of the day is free to explore this picturesque area.Then way back to Delhi.
A Blissful journey came to an end !
