kotilingeswar temple is 100 km from bangalore and falls in the weekend gateway bucketlist for a serene drive through green feilds and spritual trip.
We started the trip around 7:00 AM and reached around 11:00 AM. We pit stopped at this beautiful Goldmine Cafe on the way to kolar. One of the best cafe at NH75 , it offers indoor and outdoor siting area, interesting menu and hookah in the evening. Nice place to Chill-out with friends.
After our short coffee break we reached to temple. There is a covered parking lot next to the temple (Rs 30). Temple entry fees is Rs 20 Per person and camera charges Rs 100/. You can buy flowers,diya,prasad and offering near the parking lot.
After entering the temple courtyard you will start seeing different sizes and design shivlingas. you need to visit the three temples before visiting the largest shiva linga
Kotilingeshwara temple is famous for lakhs of shivling in the temple premise, they aim to have 1 crore shivalingas hence it's named as Kotilingeshwara.
Devotees can establish shiv linga of their choice (starting price INR 6000/-).
Suggest you to visit the temple morning before 11:00 AM and evening after 4:00 PM due to the hot weather .
