BHADANGIRI
is situated at an elevation of 2260 m and around 8 km from gwaldam Town. Considerably under the category of trek which mountain region in Uttarakhand boasts of , but arguable one of the most unique and wit testing.
The trek takes you to the famous reknowned 8th century Badhangiri Temple but wait you have to pull your socks and laces tight before you reach there. The curvy stairs which holds in between cluster of uneven rocks
Seems to be never ending at times. 2260 m inclination does not help either , just add on it. The relaxed moments though are achieved through the picturesque Himalayan range which garhwal is famous for. Sites of village , distant houses , smoke from the woods and lush green vegetation is something to be witnessed and feel lucky about it. Passing of gentle breeze through clothes all drenched in sweat making them dry and giving you goosebumps is a normal mountain life struggle or boon, whatever goes fine with you, was and is always enjoyable.

The premises of temple is divine , peace and tranquility is another version of established fact why the state is termed as Devbhoomi. Chitchat with priest reveals that temple premises is tiger prone and its quite observant via dogs barking and footprints. But no way it's a regular deal in mountains and afternoon and evenings are perfectly safe. Through a little abandoned area(zero point ) you can see the whole gwaldam city and 360 degree view is something beyond. So leaving it here and ,better done then said the trek is should be on one's bucket list if you happen to be in gwaldam sometime. PS :- In the beginning of trek there is ample parking area to park vehicles and getting food and other supply.

Angyari Mahadev
Right next from the point you start to Bhadangiri there is a passage on left which all the ways goes to Angyari Mahadev .
You have to trek 12 to 13 kms amidst jungle in order to reach there. The trails is not carved at all or to be frank ( if that what's expected ) and the route has to be identified via series of grass pressed as result of visitors who might have passed through it , and that too rarely , as one can throw guess about it. Suggestion is to go/plan in groups as jungle seems to be quite dense, chances are at couple of places (which I felt personally ) you might happen to be ,all lost and in other occurrences it will be all confusing to identify the path ahead , until observed carefully like passing through decline stretch and end up facing stream of water where nothing is marked clearly or flushed due to flow of water.

Another thing is to stick to the route , the one which seems more clear ( practically there is nothing which was marked clearly so clear out of two ) when face cross roads and don't fall prey to shortcuts which might end up in a dramatic panic situation, that too when you are all by yourself. Take shortcuts but at your own risk. The trek becomes ( as I feel ) clear at times of seasons when it's most frequented by trekkers mainly summers as winters days are short and hours are exhausted in fraction of seconds that too in jungle which are known to discard lights ,to come in naturally. Anyhow enough of advice and suggestion the wilderness is perfectly awesome and trekking through the forest is subtly very thanksgiving. Broken woods across the paths have taken various shapes , some scary and some bend enough to push your creativity. "Nature is foremost the biggest architect which universe has seen" Hanging bells from trees (due to some prevailing myths , or in recognition ) ,indicates some different phenomenon.

Towards the proximity there is huge temple and initially seems to be vacant, I came across two aghori who happen to be in very relaxed mode. Since all forest area around the returned must be planned if you do not happen to stay ( which is allowed after you took permission from forest department ). Return journey either through jungle ( if you do not get lost , I did get lost frankly speaking) or through villages , muddy roads meeting villagers busy in cattle grazing or some might warn or scare you to walk fast as zone becomes quite risky at night. If you take this route it will add up 1 or 2 km more but then you will get to see more unexplored ventures. Anyways all well that's end well. I was soon infront of my vehicle before it went dark and I expect it for everybody who happen to opt for this trek.

Reach :- 9 km from city. Things to take care of:- 1:- You might find some guide or can be attempted in groups. 2:- Start early and take forest permission from forest office if stay planned ( tents are needed and only if allowed , last time it was around 2019 November). 3:- Stay responsible for mountain cleanliness, bring all your water bottles and food wastes and dump it in dustbin, I did the same. 4:- Be responsible and don't be loud when passing through jungle and restrict yourself from disturbing wildlife (I did the same )
