Tada Falls

Located on the border of Andhra Pradesh and Tamil Nadu, there is a seemingly unknown town called Tada. But don't be fooled by it relatively unknown existence, this little town packs in itself an amazing trekking adventure to even rattle the brains of the toughest explorer.

We started in four in the morning, catching early train from Chennai Central at a meagre cost of Rs 50. We arrived at Tada in four hours. Now, Tada is small village with crooked buildings, with no coverage for your cell phones. The most important thing to note here is that there is absolutely no transport for coming back, so , you need to arrange with the auto walla to wait while to scale the rocks. The journey to Tada Falls in the rickety auto was cumbersome with people falling on top of each other. A shabby brown announced the way to the falls. The initial way was fun, with small and big rocks arranged haphazardly. We reached a small pond which we learnt was the first checkpoint. The way looked treacherous with huge straight Rocks and not a way was visible. Majority of the people gave up here only, deeming the way impossible. I, along with few others decided to to find a way out. We got together two strong branches and held them in criss-cross fashion to climb up.

Throughout the way, we helped each other scaling rocks. Another thing to keep in mind is that, you should carry enough food and drinks on the way as there is no availability of shops. We finally found the waterfalls and majestic they were. But more exhilarating was the adventurous trek and the brave smiles we put on in spite of aching feet.
