Trek to Raigad Fort-1st Feb 2015 - Mapping Journeys!

Raigad is a hill fortress situated in the modern day in the Raigad district of Maharashtra. The fort is located in the Sahyadri mountain range. The fort was looted and destroyed by the British upon siege. Post monsoon is just the best period to explore this historical jewel. We will be hiring a fort guide famous for his style of narrating the epics which will make you go back in the time, literally.

Itinerary:

31st January:

Meeting Point: 10:00pm, Dadar

The pick up points for this journey will be at

Sion- 10:45pm

Chembur- 11:15pm

Vashi- 11:45pm

Panvel St Depot- 12:00 midnight

1st February:

05.00 am : Reach the base village. Freshen up and have breakfast.

07.00 am : Start the ascend through Mahadarwaja Route (One can also opt for Ropeway facility to reach at top directly. Rope way charges are apprx Rs.185 return)

09.30 am : Reach the top. Explore the fort. We will be hiring a fort guide famous for his style of narrating the epics which will make you go back in the time, literally. Explore the ancient market place, Jagadishwar temple and Takmaktok.

02.00 pm : Have lunch. Post lunch visit Jijamata Samadhi and Jijamata Wada.

04.00 pm : Move towards Mumbai.

11.00 pm : Reach Mumbai.
