JUST like we are used to Before and After Christ to denote different eras in history , now onwards it will be before COVID and after COVID.

COVID 19 has taken the World by storm like no other event in our lifetimes. The current situation is scary and what is most worrisome is that there is no visible end to this Black Hole.

Everything from business to education to global economies is adversely affected by this pandemic and grappling for life.

Even if we get over this crisis in the near future, it will take economies/ businesses at least a couple of year to return to normalcy.

COVID-19 has changed the way we interact socially, our way of learning, how we conduct business and way we travel.

Yes - The way we travel will change and transformed for considerable number of years even if we get out of this mess soon.

In my opinion , these will be the likely changes-

1 International holidays will lose their charm

The thought of long haul flights, crowded airports, long immigrations queues, fear of getting sick in foreign land will make even the most enthusiastic and daring travellers drop their international plans for some time. Also as of now the entire world is literally under a lockdown. Different countries will follow different trajectories of recovery, relapses, re-infections etc. Visa rules will be stricter. All this will significantly demotivate travellers to undertake their dream international vacations.

2 Road Trips will see a huge surge

Yes going forward will be the time to go local , to explore the length and breadth of your own country / state . Exploring local tourist destinations will suddenly be in demand and it will give economy a much needed push and impetus.

Road trips will be the new norm because more and more people will prefer travelling in the safety of their private vehicles.

3 Stay vacations will be the new BIG thing

In order to revive business, post COVID, most luxury hotels and resorts will be offering huge discounts and packages. So you will find it easy to explore a fancy getaway nearby which was always on your wish list and is within your budgets now. Rather than opting for far flung destinations, travellers will be happier exploring nearby destinations and planning stay in some amazing hotels/resorts.

These are just some thought around how travel will be impacted in coming months.

As of now each day is a new day, a new battle and a new hope as well.

Till we all resume our journeys, home is the best place to be......

Stay Safe !!!
