Often locally referred as ‘Kas Pathar’ or ‘Valley of Flowers of Maharashtra’ is a 1000-hectare canvas filled seasonal bloom of vibrant wildflowers like karvi, smithia etc, which covers the plateau like colorful carpet between the months of August-October.

What to Expect at Kaas Plateau?
Kaas plateau is located about 20 km from the northern part of Koyna Sanctuary is a hotspot for biodiversity, supporting a variety of flowering plants, shrubs and orchids. It is home for a diverse range of flora, including carnivorous plants like-Drosera Indica and Utricularia. Some of the rare species include Ceropegia, Balsam, and Bladderwort.

How to Secure Entry Tickets for Kaas Plateau?
To preserve the fragile ecosystem of Kas plateau the number of visitors is capped at 3000 per day. Online registration is available, and tickets are priced at Rs 150 per person, free entry for those over 12 years old. Carry printed copy of entry tickets, mobile screenshot will not get accepted.

How to Get to Kaas Plateau?
Kaas Plateau is about 25 kilometre from Satara, and the drive there is an experience in itself. If you’re coming from Pune or Mumbai, it’s an easy road trip – around 3-4 hours from Pune and about 6 hours from Mumbai. The winding roads through the Western Ghats offer some breathtaking views, so keep your camera ready!
Parking Facilities
Personal vehicles and buses are needs to be parked at a certain distance from the Kaas entry gate. Parking is free and bus service (free) is available to transport from parking areas to the plateau and back.
