We had booked a 3N stay at the Sea View-Taj Mahal Tower. Our welcome was very warm-a traditional aarti with tikka and a tulsi necklace for good health. The Taj graciously offered us a complimentary free upgrade to the Sea View-Heritage Palace wing. The much larger rooms at the Palace offered unobstructed views of the Arabian sea and the Gateway.
The interiors were intricate, luxurious and resplendent. Those spectacular chandeliers are a visual delight. The swimming pool was large and spotless clean.
The complimentary breakfast at The Sea Lounge and Shamiana was elaborate, offering expansive menu offerings of veg and non veg, with specially brewed filter coffee and masala tea. Piping hot dosas (masala, podi), pooris, steaming idlis, fluffy cheese masala omlettes will satiate your salivating taste buds.
In-room dining, though a tad expensive, came with large portions and were very tasty. We also explored the staff recommendations to enjoy the Rose Petal ice cream at The Souk on the rooftop (19th floor).
Service, from the porters, front desk staff, house keeping staff was always timely and with a smile. Credits to the Learning/Training teams at the Taj who play a key role in delivering excellence to the front office staff.
The ever so oft timely service touches, those freshly baked macarons, access to the Palace Lounge for tea, coffee, fresh fruit juices - all much appreciated. A surprise freshly baked yummy chocolate cake to celebrate a life milestone literally had us licking our fingers.
The Heritage Walk, detailing the history and timeline of the Taj provided great insights into the legendary vision of its creators.
The Jiva Spa and the Taj Salon literally spoil you for choices and offer very relaxing packages.
Overall, we were super impressed with our stay and will definitely be choosing a Taj venue during our subsequent travels.
