Escapism to mountains is always refreshing to soul. The breath of fresh air, soft drizzling rain, sun illuminating your skin, chirping of birds, and the huge green valley in front of you. How can one not like this.
I did not expect visiting Pachmari during monsoon season would be any better. It was foggy all the time which is one of the reason why I love hill stations so much.
The nearest station to Pachmarhi is Pipariya. We reached Pipariya station at 8:15 pm. Pachmarhi is almost 50 km from Pipariya. Buses and private vehicles are allowed from Pipariya to Pachmari.
The day starts in the morning at 6 am with oozing rain and mist all around. The first place we visited was Handi Khoh. It is a steep cliff enveloped in densed forest and wriggling water stream.
It was our final day there and we decided to get some relaxation and the best place to relax is Bee fall. Although again we have to travel 1.5-2.0 km to bee fall as private vehicles are not allowed to travel there. The actual fall was again some 600 meters down. So total it was around 2.1-2.6 km distance to reach the fall(If you have booked gypsy, you just have to travel 600 meters as govt gypsy's are allowed to go down). We relaxed for almost 4-5 hours there.
Just beside Handi Khoh, there is a trekking way which leads to Chauragarh. We decided to take this path and trek to Chauragarh. We trek for around 7-8km and we lost the way as it was foggy and raining. Although we found our way back within few hours but it was one the most adventurous and memorable trek.
The next destination was Chauragarh as we couldn't finish our trek. We started the ascend for 1300 steps. The total length to reach at the top of Chauragah is 3.4 km which is at the height of 1,330 meters altitude. the trek was exhausting and tiring to max but as we reach the top, the scenic beauty and the fresh air just gives you all the energy back at you. It's soo refreshing that you'll forget all the pain and sweat. The view just steal you for the time you are there.
On return to Chauragarh, we visited Gupt Mahadev cave which was on the way itself. It felt like one cannot cross the cave as it was so narrow. People with claustrophobia might not want to go in there.

The nearby tourist attraction to Bee fall is Pandav caves, but we didn't visit there as we didn't have time and I have already visited other places on my first visit.
The trip ended and we have spend a splendid weekend in the "Queen of Satpura" Pachmarhi and now it was time to say goodbye to the green lush vegetation and mountains. It was one of the best trip I had with friends.
