The church of St. Francis Assisi in Dehradun was built in the year 1856, and it was distroyed by an earthquake in 1905. In 1908 Fr. Philip Capuchin submitted two plans to the Bishop of Agra, one plan was similar to St. Anthony church in Lahore.
