We reached and met each other after 2 years and finally our Women only Vizag trip started at 12.00 pm.
We had booked our cab for Araku
Halted for lunch midway, had nice lunch and continued our journey to Araku.
After crossing city limits the road started to become more scenic and air fresher and cooler
We reached our Aptdc Haritha Mayuri resort by 5.00 pm
It was a classic hill station feeling there. Early sunset by 6.00 pm
But there was a coffee museum right resides our resort, so went there for some coffee shopping and light snack.
Coffee museum had some good souvenirs but they were also available at Borra at cheaper rates.
We had dinner in the resort and retired for the day since we had to start early for Araku sightseeing
We started of early after having breakfast included in our resort booking. We had booked a sight seeing cab from resort on Day 1. The driver arrived well before time.
First stop was at tribal museum, nice spots for taking photos. It has a center where the lifestyle of all tribal communities of Andhra are depicted
Second stop was Sunkarimetta church view point. There is a small scenic church on the view point. Took few photos here
Third stop was Araku coffee plantations. Saw some coffee plants and other creepers.
Next was Gallikonda view point, this is a proper tourist spot where you get good view of valley, small eateries and refreshments
Then we went to Tatiguda waterfall. Reached there by 11.00 Spent 1 hour having coffee by waterfall. There were few families out here for a 1 day picninc at thi spot. There are changing rooms as well.
From here we headed straight to Borra caves, just at 500 m before the caves parking there are 5 6 restaurants who serve good Bamboo chicken.
We had Bamboo chicken Biryani and Bamboo chicken roasted. The authentic one. For veg they serve a proper veg thali or Dal rice and vegetable with curd.
Borra caves entry is closed from 1 to 2 pm. So we finished our lunch by 1.30, did souvenirs shopping around Borra entrance and entered borra by 2.15.
Do not forget to carry water while going inside Borra. It is a huge cave. Lots of photo spots, there are few small shops selling water as well.
We had to catch our vistadome train from bora ghalu station at 4.30, so our driver dropped us of by station at 3.30
Note- Please carry water and snacks for your journey. There are no stalls selling water or anything on any of the stations enroute.
The journey was very scenic and comfortable
We reached vizag, booked an ola from station to our hotel on Beach road.
Had diner and retired for our day.
Vizag tour day
Beach road had it all. Early sunrise, people for morning walk and exercise, nice clean road.
We stayed right on beach road so went for morning walk, had nice buffet breakfast amd lazed around.
1. Visited Kailasgiri. There are busses every 20 mins from beach road to top of Kailasgiri. Since we were 3 of us, we hired and auto rick. He charged 150 and took us to Kailasgiri ropeway entrance. We reached by 10.30 and ticket counter was scheduled to open by 11. Luckily we got a public bus going to top of Kailasgiri, we reached in 10 mins and also saved on good 200 Rs.
Kailasgiri was a good spot, spent 1.5 hrs there.
We had to do some silk saree shopping, so again got onto a bus from Kailasgiri to Jagdamba shopping road and went to Kantakala.
After shopping we had lunch in a restaurant then headed back to our hotel.
All the other spots like Submarine museum etc opens after 2.00 pm.
We again started to explore these spots which are at walkable distance like Submarine museum, aircraft museum and also tasted local Bhel and tea.
Again reached end of beach road, went searching for some local sweets. We went to Sri Gruha Laxmi and bought whole lot of sweets to bring back home.
Went for morning walk and then checked out to reach airport
Trip ended with lots of memories.
1 good souvenir to bring is Water Whistle. But is a unique whistle, fill water in it and blow whistle, it gives voices of different birds.
