BUCKET LIST ✅

For as long as I’ve wanted to visit the TAJ MAHAL at day time, I’ve also wanted to equally visit it at the night. Yes, you read that right. TAJ MAHAL IS ALSO OPEN FOR TOURISTS AT NIGHT! I went there on valentines day in the morning & next day at night & I was the lucky one to get ONE LAST TICKET!

Here’s all the info you need (First hand experienced each & every one of these points):

✨Night viewing of Taj Mahal is available on five days in a month i.e. on full moon night & two nights before & after the full moon.

✨Tickets are available 1 day before Night Viewing of the Taj between 10 A.M. to 6 P.M. at Archaeological Survey of India office.

✨Tickets cost INR 510 for Indians. Tickets are not transferable. They are made in your name. So you have to carry an ID compulsory.

✨There are literally limited tickets & they get sold out quickly. I wanted one extra ticket but even after cancellations, they do not give any additional tickets.

✨Night Viewing Timing: 20:30 hrs. to 00.30 hrs. in 8 batches of max. 50 people each. Time duration for each batch is 30 mins. Tourists have to report 30 mins before the viewing time mentioned on their ticket at Shilpgram (Eastern Gate) for security checks.

✨No mobile phones are allowed inside. Only still cameras. It’s absolutely impossible to click pictures because there is NO EXTERIOR LIGHT & ONLY MOONLIGHT. All you can see is Taj Mahal in white marble! After too may trials, I got this one shot which isn’t blur but not entirely clear either.

✨Night Viewing of the Taj Mahal is closed on every Friday & in the month of Ramzan.

✨You can watch it only from a certain distance. Going anywhere other than the designated are is prohibited.

Things that I would advise:

✨Try taking in a 12:00 slot. Moon will be above the Monument & it will be much more beautiful. I was in the 9:00 pm slot.

✨Learn night photography skills & settings in advance & try it out pre-hand.

✨Its a once in a lifetime opportunity so soak in the view as much as you can! (I definitely did)
