1. Kovalam, Kerala
One of Kerala's favorite beaches is a challenging terrain for beginner surfers. The rocky sea bed is a bit dangerous and novices usually prefer Varkala over this, but Kovalam has its own specialty in tides and can be of great inspiration.

2. Ten Thousand Peaks, Maravanthe
Known for it's magnanimous length of 6 km, Ten Thousand Peaks has something for every surfer. Be it beginner or experienced, you have the ocean at your disposal.

4. Paradip, Odisha
The waves here can travel up to 1 km and are definitely meant for experienced surfers. Those looking for 5-6 ft high waves should definitely check out Jagganath Puri instead.

6. Manapad Point, Tamil Nadu
Formed by hundreds of years of lava flow, Manapad Point is a rare and hidden point in Tamil Nadu. It is in fact considered the best surfing spot in India. Amateurs should avoid surfing in monsoon, but otherwise the waves are friendly throughout the year.

7. Varkala, Kerala
Waves at Varkala are of the perfect height, providing leeway for beginners to learn and good enough for professionals to have fun. The sandy sea-bed also works in favor, as it significantly reduces the risk factor.

From North of Mahe to Talakkolattur River mouth in the south, this hidden gem in Kerala has several ideal spots dotted across it. These places are not easy to find on Google Maps, but reply on locals to get you the best wave possible.

Kapu Beach is one of the most popular spots in India for surfing. What makes it even better is the close access to Shaka Surf Club, which is a certified institute for surfers.

10. Mulki, Mangalore
Known as the surf town of India, Mulki has several surf clubs situated in it. The waves carter both to learning beginners and experienced surfers.
