First thing there's a spelling confusion for this place as per Wikipedia it spells 'SAHASRADHARA' but what I saw on signboards in the city is 'SAHASTRADHARA'.
But there is no confusion in that this place is one of the most popular tourist destinations in Dehradun. So the place has magnificent beauty of nature where water drip from the limestone stalactites, making the water abundant in sulphur and thus the place is known for its Sulphur springs. This place is at about 11 km from the city of Dehradun. All the transport facility as buses, taxi, autos or cabs are available to get to the Sahasradhara.
How to reach Shastradhara / Sahasradhara from Delhi.
So there are many trains from Delhi to Dehradun but the most recommendable is Nanda Devi Express as it starts from New Delhi itself so one can get a reservation easily as compared to another long route trains.
So there nothing like a hectic journey from Delhi to Dehradun if you get a seat.
So now in Dehradun, if you are in a group then book an auto or taxi but if you are traveling alone then take a bus rather than booking an auto, as auto may charge around 300 rupees.
Shasaradhara is basically a Sulphur Bathtub and there is a small waterfall too.
All n all the experience were good and were a stress reliever and in fact, during December peak winter we enjoy the place.
