Songiri Fort is the most fascinating trek in Sahyadri ranges of Maharashtra. Songiri fort is also known as Palasdari Fort which is an easy to climb fort and located at the elevation of 2500 feet above sea level. During the winter, it is almost a perfect heaven for the trekkers with pleasant weather and enthralling views. 

Things to see at Palasdhari Fort 

There is a secret waterfall hidden in the dense Forest you can use help from the locals to reach it, Palasdhari dam located near the Fort. You visit the Swami Samarth Math in Palasdhari village. The trek has become popular among the trek community after the trail was well marked and easy to follow. You can see the fantastic  Rajmanchi, Dhak, Bhorghat, Prabalgad and Bhivgad from the summit of Songiri Fort. Songiri Fort lies in ruins now with thick jungle cover and two water tanks and portions of fortification.

How to reach Palasdari Fort
From Mumbai: You can reach Palasdhari station by taking a Khopoli train, or a Karjat train from Mumbai

From Pune: Take a train that goes towards Mumbai & that stops at Karjat.
