As per ANI, Himachal Pradesh has finally witnessed this season’s first snowfall. Dhankar village of Lahaul-Spiti district has received fresh snowfall on Monday. So, it seems winter will come this year a little bit early.

The village is now covered with a thick blanket of snow following the fresh fall. Snowfall was also reported at Rohtang Pass and high-altitude areas of Himachal Pradesh, bringing cheer to tourists visiting Manali and Lahaul-Spiti.

However, due to the heavy snowfall, Baralacha Pass and Shinkula Pass are closed. Also, roads from Koksar to Losaar and Lossar to Kaza are closed and all the movements of persons and vehicles on these routes are restricted till further Govt. orders.

Elsewhere in Himachal Pradesh, where the Met department issued an alert about the possibility of rain and snow, many areas saw a significant drop in temperature of up to 8 degrees Centigrade in the past 24 hours.
