Day 1

As the bus began its ascent of the Western Ghats through the Hairpins, purpose of viewing the beauty of the mountains surrounded with monsoon clouds was shattered as the rains forced us to close the windows of the bus.

We were planning to visit mullayanagiri the highest peak in karnataka and the mesmerizing jhari falls, we startd our trip at 5 a m frm mangalore and reachd at seethalayagiri around 11.30 a.m... As we came out of the vehicle it was too cold and there was such a strong gust of wind with clouds that we felt as if we would be swept away by the sheer speed. Frm ter to mullayanagiri we went by walk for about 4 k.m.Then trecking to t peak of mullayanagiri. That gaves the most beautiful sight of Mullayanagiri on the back drop with ever-changing natural scenario.

we left frm mullayanagiri at around 2.30 p.m. and then to next destination the jhahri falls, it was quite bright and the view of the deep valleys, rising mountain tops, floating clouds, wet trees and green forests adequately compensated our failure to savour the beauty of nature while we were on our way to jhahri!!

We were left with no choice to jhahri but the very known mountaineer 'Jeep'!! The initial path till the waterfall is a full descend trek, full of sharp curves, steep slopes & excellent for those who love adventure!! The panoramic beauty of Jhahri waterfalls adds a particular gusto to the adventure.

It was a perfect trekking day, spent perfectly with equally adventorous group!! We reached home by 1:0am!! A bit tired, but with sense of fulfillment. Mission chikmagaluru accomplished!!! One more time, hopefully not the last time.!
