Rishikesh - Weekend Gateway - Proper Tour Plan

 

Honestly Rishikesh is a place where I have been like many times and have explored many things. 

Through this travel blog I wish to guide you about the places that you can visit and to plan your next trip accordingly.

It is actually a weekend gateway, means if you are planning from Delhi. Either drive self, hire a cab, take a train or book a bus. Make sure you leave Delhi at night, so that early morning you can reach Rishikesh.

Now before a trip plan, make sure what is the purpose of your trip, is it to explore the nature, areas and places. Is it to relax and chill out with friends and family or just for adventure sports (River Rafting and Bungee Jumping).

If you are planning to chill and relax, suggest to go for a camp booking at any river side of Rishikesh. Charges are very nominal like maximum 2000 INR per day, including River Rafting, camping, food and stay. There either you can party or have fun and relax at the river bed, with good food or drink. You can also explore nearby areas at Camp.

Many people also come for meditation, yoga etc. For that it is advisable to check online for rates and review, and to do an online booking before coming to Rishikesh.

Now If your core purpose is cost effective adventure trip you can do following things:

You reach Saturday morning, explore the area near Laxman Jhula and you would find descent hotel worth 500 INR (more luxury you want more you pay).

Freshen up and then go visit Rishikesh Water fall (Neer Garh Water Fall). This water fall is situated on the main road when from laxman Jhula you move towards Badrinath, it would come on the left hand side of the road. Here Vehicle is not possible as you need to trek a bit (approx 7 KM total). Trek is beautiful, with sound of water splashes, Jungle silence and hush. It is not actually a tourist spot, and get very less footfall, so it s advised to take any local with you.

Trust me, the way towards waterfall is more amazing than it look in the picture.

Well once I have been there on a solo trip by Bike from New Delhi, hats off to my Splendor NXG, which survived well on those roads. I took my bike till a point, where it was possible to drive, further I parked it and continued my Trek. At the end, you would see the beautiful waterfall.

Now from there come back to your hotel. Freshen up and at the afternoon go for River rafting or Bungee Jumping. Whichever adventure sport you like to do.

River Rafting would cost you approx 400 per person and Bungee Jumping would cost you 1700 + Video Charges + 100 Rs/. 

Atleast you should Try river rafting, which is one of the extreme adventure of Rishikesh.

Now from River rafting again come back to hotel, freshen up and at the evening go to visit Laxman Jhula and near by German Bakeries. Choose a Bakery which has a river view, the view would be amazing in the evening.

Get back to hotel, take rest and sleep well. This was for Saturday. Now next day early morning go to witness Sunrise at any Hill Top and further book any vehicle for Neel Kanth.

NeelKanth is a place in Rishikesh 25 KMs from Laxman Jhula on hill top, where there is an old sacred temple. Which many devotees visit. Well Honestly I like Neelkanth for the beautiful scenery it offers during the journey towards its top.

Try returning back till afternoon, do some shopping if you want from the local market and till early evening return back to Delhi.

You can easily skip or add anything according to your convenient to this trip. Most of the locals are friendly so you can interact with them to get an area knowledge.

While returning back you can visit Haridwar as well, which is just 30 Kms from Laxman Jhula or Raja Ji National Park, which is adjacent to Rishikesh.

Well, I have few good memories attached to this place and every time I visit here I get a new experience. No doubt it is one of the best Weekend Gateway from New Delhi.
