Shimla, also known as Simla, is the capital of Himchal Pradesh and was the former summer capital of British India. It is surrounded by lofty green hills with snow capped peaks. The mall road in Shimla is a good place to relax and roam. It's a pollution and vehicle free zone. This place is famous because tourist love to walk, sit on the benches and relax here. It gives a beautiful view of the valley from ridge road. The Lakkar Bazar is a market where one can get different kinds of wooden craft items.
Annadale is located at about 2-3 km away from the Ridge road. The road leading to Annandale provides beautiful scenic views. The main attraction of the place is the Army Museum.
When Shimla was the summer capital of British India, British officials ruled from this place. The building has now been converted into Indian Institute of Advanced Studies. The entry is ticketed and tourist are allowed to enter with the batch and guide.
It is located at the Ridge road and is said to be the second oldest church of North India. The stained window glasses represent faith, hope, charity and patience.
It is dedicated to Lord Hanuman and is located at the top of the hill, around 2-3 km from the mall road. It can be reached by walking. If you prefer mountain climbing, take a stick and get ready to climb for an hour. Otherwise, you can hire a taxi or a pony to reach the place.
