Day 1

Paro Airport  is about 6 km  from Paro in a deep valley on the bank of the river Paro Chhu. With surrounding mountains as high as  (18,000 ft), it is considered one of the world's most challenging airports, and only a select number of pilots are certified to land at the airport.

It was a thrilling experience and I'm glad I got to do it twice!
It's also one if the undiscovered tourist spots. There is a viewing area from where one can see the landing and take off of flights. Thought you should be lucky to get a view as there are very few flights that come to Bhutan. Hardly 4 -6 a day.

One can take a cab from Paro market area. It is a 10 min drive .It costed around INR 600 for a round trip ( bit pricey but no option as there is no Uber to the rescue here)

But it's a must do in Paro. Also the light drizzle added to the experience.

It's simply marvelous to see the flights disappearing into the mountains. Also a bit weird to see just one flight in the airport .

Literally flying between two mountains. Felt like in a thriller movie flight scene
