The Pannavadi is a small village on the banks of the river Cauvery in Salem District, Taminadu.
This place is famous for its submerged Nandi status and a Church. As a result the construction of the Mettur Dam in 1934, the dam authorities evacuated the people of Nayambadi and some other villages where the dam was sited. When the water level of the reservoir recedes, even now old Christian Church of Nayamabadi and some Hindu temples from other villages emerge from it as proof!
There is also a boat service that connects Salem District and the Dharmapuri District of Tamilnadu. Even our two-wheelers are ported across the river at cheaper rates.
People usually come here to spend their evening time and have some fish cuisine.
If anyone wants to visit this place, you come at any time but check the water level of Mettur Dam and visit if the level is above 70 ft to have a better experience.
Please do not litter the tourist spots. Thanks :)
