Are you also looking forward to embrace solo travel, but don't know from where and how to start? Well, I also had this question but it all got sorted once I boarded the flight to Bengaluru.

My first trip to South part of India, Coorg also known as Kodagu & popularly as Scotland of India. It was my first solo, and highly excited to unveil and embrace the journey to this beautiful & serene place. Here's how it started... I took a flight and landed in Bangalore at 8.30 AM. I then took bus from Majestic Bus Terminus which takes 6-7 Hours to reach Madikeri, Coorg.

Living a slow life here and how...

the small joys I found while strolling the town

Day 1: Waking up to a new place, not a regular morning it is! Went on strolling through the lanes of town, beautiful homes, greenery, flowers in so many shades, and tranquility! It was like a walking meditation.

April is least crowded, hence the beauty it brings during/post monsoon wasn't shining yet it was offering pleasant vibes. First stop, Iruppu Falls, it's 75 Km's from Madikeri and takes 3 hours to reach by car/scooty. During summer's the water flow was minimal but fun with bunch of people.

Day 2: Coorg is known for tea & coffee plantations, and here I go! I must admit, the fun part of the entire trip was riding on the new roads. It was thrilling. Rented a scooty and here we go.... exploring the town, and went to the Coffee Plantation Estate. It was amazing to learn so much about coffee beans & spices, also tried the complementary filter coffee.

Evening is good to have a sunset view and went to Raja's Seat Park, which gives beautiful view of the sunset and if you're an adventurer, you can go for Zip lining too.

Everything is fine but a good food is cherry on top! and I have found the most amazing North Indian pure veg restaurant: Paakshala, in Coorg. A must try!

Day 3: Monastery: A gem amidst the hill station

First stop, Namdroling Monastery, also called as the Golden Temple. One of most beautiful & serene place to explore. The moment I entered it seemed a different world altogether. It was my first at Monastery, it was beautiful, positive vibes. This can't be missed, I could have spent an entire day here!

Dubare Elephant Camp, It is located on the banks of River Kaveri, you'll get to see the cutest creatures, Elephants. In morning hours, you can witness Elephant bathing and can also go near to them and have fun along! To me, it was disheartening to see them tied up in chains though.

I loved the route we took on our way back, loaded with greenery, and tea plantations estates. I had a thrilling experience to be riding on to those new roads.

Day 4: Mandalpatti Peak for Sunrise

Start as early as 4.30 AM to witness the sunrise, Mandalpatti peak is 18 KM's from Madikeri. There are two ways to reach the peak, either trek or opt for Jeep Safari. Jeep Charges INR 2500, ideally good for people in group of 5-6.

Once you reach to the top, it offers the panoramic view of hills, clouds beneath and sunrising from it.
