Life is boring if you sit at home and sleep you'll miss the best of your life. Travelling for me is like breathing and I don't miss a chance to travel.
Mandarmani is one of the less visited beaches of West Bengal and a group of 4 decided to visit it at a weekend + Monday, as we felt that just a night stay won't be enough. And that was the best decision we took.
Day 1:
we left from Ranchi and got down at Kharagpur at morning 5:00am , next we had 2 option either take another train to Digha or go by road. We decided to take the road and believe me, the route is all lush green and fresh.
The taxi we booked from the station charged us Rs. 2000 only. By 10:30 am we reached the hotel.
We had already booked Hotel Candlewood Resort through goibibio.com. This is yet another hotel next to beach and has a nice entrance and deck on the beach side, where they have the beach beds and table placed to relax and also have food there.
We got fresh and went to enjoy a walk on the beach after lunch, as the weather was cloudy and didn't had to wait till evening.
The waves weren't very high and the security is there on the beach to guide you as in till which level we can go. So we went to play in the waves and after a while it started drizzling.
After shower we went back to the beach to have a stroll at night and I must say that's the best time to enjoy the sound of the waves.
There's lights on one side and waves on the other, the cold breeze and friends to share these moments.
Day 2:
Next day we got up early to enjoy the sunrise at the beach, yet another mesmerizing moment anywhere you be.
So the same goes again, watching the sunrise, walking on the beach, playing with the waves and then breakfast at a small hotel at the beach.
After breakfast while walking back to hotel rooms we got same pretty art done by the little crabs which shows that nature has the purest form of art.
We walked back to the hotel, took rest for some time and then we planned to visit Tajpur beach. This beach is next to Mandarmani beach but is separated by a riven flowing down meeting the sea. The beach distance is only 5 kms but we had to take the road which is 12 kms road distance, as that is the only way to commute. We booked an auto for Rs. 300 for up and down.
We reached there and we could hardly see visitors there. Very few and all where from nearby places. This is yet another unexplored beach, very calm and serene.
We had to walk almost 500 meters and more on the sand till the waves. The sand is bright, white and fine. There were red crabs peeping out of their holes and we chased them (my favorite thing to do).
we sat and enjoyed the sunset there, took some pictures and danced on the waves.
As the dusk grew we returned back to the hotel and changed. This was our last evening at this place, so we decided to have a nice dinner at the beach side. We went to the beach again to experiment with light painting photos and then returned back for dinner.
This hotel serves good food and staff was very helpful and room service very active.
Day 3:
We enjoyed our stay and next day morning we were tired so took our time, got fresh, had breakfast at the hotel and left for Kharagpur at 9:30 am.
A short and sweet yet another story to share.
