Inviting you to you an evening of dazzling lights, colors, shapes, and themes, the Lantern Light festival is among the most fascinating events in Florida. The six-week celebration of Chinese culture features massive lanterns, incredible cuisine and inspiring performances. These dazzling pictures from the festival will make your eyes gleam.
China’s most important celebration, the lantern festival is a tradition that began over 2,000 years ago.
The festival marks the return of spring and the lighting of Chinese lanterns is symbolic of illuminating the future and the reunion of family.
These huge lanterns stay firmly on the ground in different shapes and sizes.
Each Chinese lantern is custom-built and takes four weeks and a team of seven Chinese artisans to complete.
Appearing to be three-dimensional stained glass, the lanterns are handmade from hundreds of pieces of silky cloth. Their size ranges from over 30 feet to up to 300 feet.
If you wish to enjoy a night full of glowing lights and mesmerizing sights then head to the Lantern Light Festival.
