Day 1

We booked our flights from Delhi Airport to Dehradun Airport and took a cab from there to reach Mussourie. Yes, it is pretty hard to believe we went there by flight but it was fun on a whole.

We booked hotel a little away from the main city as we wanted to have a calm and composed stay and nothing beats this cosy lounge on the way to Mussourie. Situated near Bhatta Falls and 8 kms away from the main Mussourie, this place served as a perfect stay away from hustle bustle.

We dressed ourselves and left for our Day 1 exploration upto the hill in Mussourie. Upon reaching Picture Palace, the weather was calm and serene. Walking down the Mall Road, one cannot afford to miss street side Bhutta that adds value to breeze flowing while you walk down the lane.

As we walked down the Mall Road, wind playing around and rain about to drench us and at this very movement, when you see Tandoori Chai, it is next to impossible to resist. The only place at Mall Road that serve Tandoori Chai is "Chai La". Famous for its baked cookies as well, it is a desserts in drenched city.

The city looks like a charm, when it just rained, there is a glow on the street. We walk in down, and we see, the drenched streets looking all more beautiful than ever.

They say it is must to travel trolley when you go to Mall Road, Mussourie. So, we opted it to travel to Gun Hill. We decided to walk down the hill to Mall Road to explore the real nature surrounding the "Gun Hill". Though a bit commercialized, this place is must go and it is highly recommended that you walk down the gun hill while coming back. I am sure you don't want to miss a beautiful view while walking down to Mall Road.

When you do not want to go away from mountains.

It was our Day 2 in Mussourie and a slightly better day, rain-wise. Google predicted no rains today, and luckily it so happened. We decided to go to this beautiful place called Landour today, and since it was bright not so sunny day, we could manage to take skirt out of our closet for this day.

The best place to stay at in Landour.

We reached, Picture Palace and decided to explore Landour by walking till there. It was 6-7 kms and took us arounf 2-3 hours to climb up there. Our first beautiful stop here was Domas Inn. Though we could not get a stay here due to their pre occupancy, it is a beautiful place to stay.

P.S. Adjacent to it is Ruskin Bond's house. You can catch him, if you are lucky enough.

Special travel with special people makes is worth remembering.

On Day 3, we managed to convince our hotel owner to rent us his activa, and we explored the whole city that day on Activa

Starting our day to visit Bhatta Falls, it is little disappointing that rivers are drying up so fast. And moving it through hills, and exploring George Everest. Highly recommended you go there on your bikes, you will fall in love with they route and George Everest.

Our next food destination was Cafe Teatotaler. The same is on Mall Road, but near to Library Chowk. A perfect typical bollywood theme-music cafe, which leaves your stomach satisfied beyond expectations. You may feel like grooving to beats while eating your food

Day 4

The trip ended on Day 4, and we had to move back towards our destination. Whilst we were hoping we had some more days to explore, we managed to wind it up quickly and the last destination was Mindrolling Monastery. This was not in Mussourie or Landour, but in Dehradun.

So, there it ended our 3 Nights/ 4 Days trip covering Mussourie, Landour and Dehradun.

Landour is highly unrecognized beauty in the hills of Mussourie, which demands all more attention from us, all for their beautiful cafe and chaar dukaan, You can not miss to go to this place, and the best way to explore this place is on foot/ or two-wheeler.

Do not go with high hopes of seeing a beautiful waterfall, as Kempty Fall is where you will see people bathing and Bhatta Falls is almost dried up.

There are two other waterfalls less explored there viz. Mossy Falls and Jharipani Falls. Be careful while going there as the route is upside down and may take more than expected time.

However, as we say the more you explore, the more you learn. So, go on exploring this unexplored yet beautiful town ~ Landour.
