A short one night trip to Laguna Beach with a stop in San Juan Capistrano on the way back.
Amazing place. They rehabilitate sick and injured seals here; very educational and who doesn't want to stare at adorable seal pups? No pressure to donate but why wouldn't you? Parking lot is small, metered parking along street was easier for us.
Nice comfortable stay; got a decent rate and it's right on the beach. They provide towels, chairs, and umbrellas for guests. Gorgeous stretch of beach, close to downtown area.
Cute little tea spot in a nice historic area. A bit hard to find from Google maps, decent parking.
