It was our freshers' trip. I had it in my bones that most of us were skeptical about going till the moment we all boarded the bus, after that it was a piece of cake. The bus journey that was supposed to take 7 hours took nearly double the time. We were all exhausted because we hadn't slept the entire night, this was like a way better version of night-outs. But once I stepped into our resort #Kumbhalgarhvalleyresort, I seriously couldn't have been happier. It was a beauty. With 9 cottages and 2 swimming pools situated on a hilltop, I still don't think we could have stayed at a better place. It was January, and it was freezing cold. We didn't do anything much after reaching at 12 PM. We had food and chilled.

In the evening, all of us first years decided to go walking to a lake we'd seen on the way. None of us knew where it exactly was (there was no network, therefore no Google Maps). We started walking downhill, all of us in a line, accompanied by 2 seniors. We got lost. All of us. We had went the opposite way. But somehow we found the lake and it was just plain beautiful. There were dam shutters on one side, and hills on the other. Few of us went boating. I decided to walk along the shores with 2 friends. We found something that resembled the ruins of a fort. The view from the ruins was breathtaking. One could see the entire surrounding area. The lake, its atmosphere, the weather, everything was just perfect. The water was crystal clear and there was soothing feel to put my hands on it and play with it. Yeah, I'm childish too. We left after a while. We had to reach the resort before it got dark. The walk back was both tiresome and fun. We ran, we raced, we were too pumped to just walk.

We didn't do anything much on the trip. Not much site-seeing. We stayed at the resort for one night, had a party and only walked to the lake and hike back. But that walk which was calm, peaceful and  soothing is something I will never forget.
