#SwipeRightToTravel

Kodaikanal is a hill station in Tamil Nadu also known as Princess of hill stations. I have been to many hill stations in north India, but none in south, which made me visit Ooty and Kodai back to back in two weekends.

To keep the costs low, my friends and I had decided to travel by train. Travelling by train is cheaper and more comfortable than a bus journey. It was an overnight journey and we reached Kodaikanal Road railway station at 7am in the morning.

While the actual hill station and railway station were far apart, we had hired a tempo traveller which stayed with us for the rest of our journey. While we were still on the way to hill station, we had a chance to stop by one of the restaurants which had an amazing lake view and unmanned round boat. After which we went to waterfalls which was on the way.

We reached our hotel and got ready for the visit. Places we visited on that day were Pine forrest, Coakers walk, church, Pillar rock.

The following day we went to Guna caves, Bryant Park.

The city gets silent after 10 pm mostly and cold. It had been raining all the time while our stay.

The next morning, I decided to have a walk, so I went to coakers walk early morning, which was at a walk-able distance from our hotel. The early morning view was very soulful.

In my opinion, Kodaikanal was more serene than ooty with less crowd and more beauty.

The third and the final day was dedicated to the Kodaikanal lake. One could rent bicycles and tricycles to ride around the lake. Please check the cycle before taking, as most of them are not in suitable condition for riding and can become a pain. We also had a boat ride in the lake afterwards and our trip was coming to an end. We took buses afterwards and life went back to normal from exciting.
