Kodachadri!!!
The 13th highest peak of Karnataka standing 1343mtrs above sea level. Planning for a perfect weekend we got this one in our line.
Started from Bangalore to Sagara and then hosanagara.
We left Bangalore by 9pm and were in hosanagara (hakkalalli heritage homestay) by 6am.
There were 2 options lying in front of us, either to choose to go trek or to go for swimming in Backwaters. We had 2 days in our hand so we chose trek as the first day plan.
Left room by 9 and reached the hill base by 10am. And then, we started to hike. Walk and walk!Like the saying "Run wild, free like a waterfall" Hidlumane falls welcomed us as a beginner. By the time we reached Hidlumane we were having this question in mind..."how much more to go!!!"
We had to rest, we wanted some refreshment and so we chose Falling water! The hit of water was hard, it was like a mini massage to the body which also helped us to regain our energy. We still had a long path to go.
But then, with talks, fun, food, rest we were nearing to peak...as we got closer to destination we could feel the freshness in the air and if there is something called "Pure pitch green!" color it would be that.😇
The steep rocks, open grounds, greenery around what more could you ask for?
The 17+ kms of trek path(ascending+descending) was not easy.
But when you reach peak and take a look back...It Is Worth it!!! And that's when you feel how true is the line "the best view comes after the hardest climb!".
Also, Leeches, who didn't wanted to leave us even if we choose them to leave!
When you reach the Mookambika origin temple at the peak, that divine feel out there.
(2.5kms from there shankara peeta is a top, which we could not cover due to time constraints)
You have the option to move in Jeep till the peak but choose to trek! You'll never be disappointed!
Fortunately, there was FOG and also RAIN, that made the complete scenary cinematically beautiful! It was truly a treat to eyes. Descending was quite comparatively easier as our legs had no breaks and was in a pace of movement only! We reached back the base by 6 pm...and somewhere between the bottom of the climb and the summit is the answer to the mystery why we climb.
When we reached back the homestay, that feeling of satisfaction of achieving something beautiful, something memorable, something which can be cherished through out the life!!!
Because in the end, you won't remember the time you spent working int he office or mowing your lawn. Climb that goddamn mountain...❤️
