The magical land of kheerganga is dedicated to lord kartikey son of lord shiva..it is believed that ages ago here use to flow the natural kheer(rice n milk) from the spring ..as the kalyug era was about to start shiva gave shap to the kheer and the it was turned into water and remains of cream were only left behind..the milky effect in water is still present!
This place is famous among backpackers,trekkers,peace n nature lovers,foreigners and sadhus..
One can reach kheerganga from barshani Via 13 KMS of hard trek..this place is surrounded by the dense forest of devdhar trees..the scenic walk starts from barshani..
Nathan is the only village located in the midway of kheerganga.. this village has 2 cafes offering indian,continental,israeli food..
People can be seen smoking raisin of marijuana formerly on the name of lord shiva,saying it baba ji ki booti..raisin is easily available in village at good rates..
Heading from Nathan the next place which lies in the route is rudarnag..this place is famous among the lords of Kullu valley..devi and devtas come here for the holy bath ..this place is named rudarnag because of the parvati flowing in the rudra roop..
The bridge adjoining kheerganga and rudarnag is the most dangerous one..as the bridge is crossed the hard trails begin.. after a walk of 3 hours from rudarnag one approaches amazing magical place..
The first sight of kheerganga makes your soul feel high..being on the top of mountains make one more lively and energizing..
