Bhushi Dam

Life in Mumbai is really fast paced. We often need holidays here to keep us happy and energetic. This might sound like a excuse to travel but yes it is true. When were jotting down options for the short holiday, we wanted to go to someplace near Mumbai. We had 2 options- Igatpuri or khandala. Lonavala/khandala are most visited places during monsoons. So we decided to go for khandala. We had a chance to stay with Zara's resort, its a scenic property, falls on National Highway 4. It is thus very well connected to mumbai & lonavala & Pune too. The resort was above average (could be better).

When we checked in, the whole place was covered by fog. That was an amazing welcome we got from the place. It was raining heavily at intervals. the whole valley would be covered with fog in seconds. We also managed to visit Lonavala dam. One must visit this place during monsoons. There are many waterfalls on the mountain range opposite the lake whereas the lake is spectacular. The road takes you to bhushi dam, which is another great sight. Bhushi dam is extremely crowded during weekends but is a good experience.

Steaming hot Maggi was a cherry on cake after getting wet in rains & experiencing the fog. After all little things in life matter a lot.
