Khajuraho in Madhya Pradesh, India- Temple Architectural splendour in the midst of forests and hills

Khajuraho situated in the state of Madhya Pradesh is a land of temples and natural beauty. Surrounded by Vindhyachal ranges and river Ken with its multiple ponds where devotees (aristocracy and commoners alike) bath and then proceeded for the darshan of the deity still reverberates with the ancient cosmic energy in its precinct. Once home to 85+ temples structures as it is said (no one is sure how many were there and got broken and vandalized), it is the witness to many invasions, destruction, and constant loot of over last 800+ years. Now only approx. 25 remain standing - not every one of them is in great shape as time has left its imprints but what it did not take away is the work and devotion of the sculptors, laborers, workers, and the royalty, who decided to build them in the glory of the Gods. These magnificent temples give us a glimpse of the daily and religious life of an ordinary person in ancient Bharatvarsh.
