Mana village in Uttarakhand’s Chamoli district, is the last village in India before the border with China. Now, there is another reason to visit Mana. As per news reports, India's highest herbal park has opened in the village. 

Located at a height of 11,000 ft, this high altitude herbal garden is spread across 3 acres. The park has been created with the objective of conserving the plant ecology of the area along with the conservation and propagation of alpine plants of medicinal and cultural importance. This herbal park will house around 40 species of high altitude alpine plants.

Developed by the Uttarakhand Forest Department, this park is split into four sections. The first section will have plants like Badri Tulsi, Ber, Badri Tree, and sacred tree of Bhojpatra. All of these are associated with Lord Badrinath. The second section has the group of eight Himalayan Ayurvedic herbs that form the core ingredient of chyawanprash.

The third section will have the Saussurea species and include Brahmakamal (the state flower of Uttarakhand), Nilkamal, Phemkamal, and Koot. The fourth section will have assorted alpine species including Meethavish, Ateesh, Choru, and Vankakdi, all of which are medicinal herbs and are in great demand.
