There is a Goa beyond beaches, parties and water sports. Goa in India is like Thailand in world but like all the places in the world, it has some unexplored and hidden places to visit. Now after lock down people are heading towards untouched places to witness some amazing nature. Make sure you add below places in your bucket list of GOA.
1) Netravali
This is one of the mysterious place in Goa and away from party and beaches. Many people are not aware of Goa which is beyond beaches and touristy places. It is located in located in Sanguem district of south Goa and 65 kms from airport. You can hire a bike or a cab to reach here. It's not an ordinary lake, there are some methane deposits below the ground which leaks from underneath and makes the water surface bubble out. There is also of fish spa there which is cherry on the cake, dip your feet here and tiny little fishes with do the rest. Try to reach early in morning to avoid some local crowd.
2) Cumbarjua Backwater Canal
Everyone is not aware of thrilling adventure of kayaking in backwater canals in Goa. Yes you got it right not Kerala. The banks of Mandovi river in Cambarja is the Camberjua canal which flows throw thick mangrove forests. These backwaters are the some perfect spot for kayaking for thrill-seekers. If you are interested in visiting untouched places keep following NH48 and travel on foot to reach canals. Beware of crocodiles taking sun bath and waiting for some quick food. The waterway passed through thick mangrove and provides some best views.
3) Rivona Caves
Best way to reach here is on bike or an SUV. Be on NH7 and continue towards Tilomol-Curdi which you will be to reach in one hour. After crossing town it will not take more than 10 mins to reach Rivona Caves. This is believe that caves were used by Buddhist monks to meditate because of the laterite rocks inside the caves. You will witness some paintings and sculptures on walls and view of the sea from caves are cherry on the top. This unique cave must be on the list.
4) Sinquerim Fort
Goa was home for Portuguese until British invades and drove them out. There are lot of Portuguese influence is still presents in Goa beaches, even though some buildings are still intact. To witness some of the great architecture do visit Sinquerim fort on Sinquerim beach in Sinquerim village. This fort is unexplored and provide some great views. If you are a photographer this is your place and relaxing beach adds to your visit. Beach is not crowded and less known so you are on private beach. You can also indulge in scuba diving, fishing, swimming, wind surfing and many more activities. The best part is it just 1 hour away from Goa airport.
5) Harvalem Falls
Just 45 kms from Panjim, this waterfall is hidden from most of the visitors to Goa. It is away from beaches & touristy attractions, make a visit to shallow translucent waterfall. This waterfall is surrounded by dense forest and there is a Shiva temple near by. If you get some time spare try to visit unexplored Arvelem caves. We recommend to pay a visit in month of Feb and March get most out of it. Water level will be good and weather will be pleasant.
6) Butterfly Beach
This beach is explored due to accessibility is very limited to it. Earlier we had to take a boat to reach this place but not you will be able to reach here after a good trek. Since way to beach is covered with dense forest so vehicles will not be able to reach here. Boat charges will vary in seasons but starts Rs1000 for complete trip. You can spot dolphins, carbs and mostly varieties of butterflies that's why it's called butterfly beach. White sandy beach with clear water makes a perfect combination to visit this place.
