Along with sanitisation and social distancing, the airport will be minimising human contact as flights resume operations. According to reports, as of now only Terminal 3 will be operation with no permission for visitors to enter. The dates post the 4th extension of lockdown have not been revealed yet.

What's new?

1. Face masks will be mandatory for all passengers and staff inside the airport.

2. There will be social distancing markers at every turn to ensure that people maintain a safe distance while standing in queues or sitting in the waiting area. Airport authorities will be present at security check areas, kerbsides, check-in halls and at boarding gates ensuring the same.

3. Sanitisers will be available at different check points including when you're boarding the bus and the plane. Meanwhile, the staff members will be adequated with PPE kits.

4. Staggered seating, disinfected trays and digital payments at kiosks will ensure minimal human contact.

5. As per the government directives, each staff member will be screened for fever and any passenger that shows signs associated with COVID-19 will be isolated.

Along with these measures, DIAL will be disinfecting surfaces including high touch points such as chairs, desks, elevators, railings, escalators etc after every hour for which it has deployed 500 staff members. Washrooms will be shut every one hour for sanitisation. You will easily have access to gloves and masks at the stores.

The airport authorities are also putting up signs for the new rules at various spots to remind passengers as well as using social media to encourage safety protocols for air travel. If you also need to travel soon, make sure you print your boarding passes at home and highlight your name and flight details to minimise contact. Go for self check-in, self bag tag facilities and digital payment options.
