Being a Software Engineer, apart from the professional experience on my resume, I believe it is important to add experiences to my life that cannot be captured on paper. This is the story of how I refuel myself and maintain the balance :)
I wish to share my journey and perhaps inspire someone to experience the joy of reaching the top of a mountain .
This story is the summary of each of the treks I have been to . I wanted to document both the big treks and small hikes together as every mountain is beautiful and all of them are special <3
I will keep appending my "happy-days" as and when they occur and hope that one day when I look back, I have enough Happy days in my life :)
Tikona Fort trek, Maharashtra - 8th September 2018
The climb is over 3,500 feet over a triangular mountain in the Western Ghats. You'll trek over a relatively easy trail that will lead you across a mountain ridge with valleys on both sides.
At the Tikona Fort, you can visit the Mahadev Temple and Satvahan caves as you explore the old fortifications of this ancient fort. From the top of the fort, you can catch misty mountain views of the nearby Pawna Lake and Visapur Fort .
It is located in Maval region of Lonavala, Maharashtra
Madap waterfall trek, Maharashtra - 28th July 2019
Madap village is the base point from where you can start the trek . It is located in Khalapur Taluka in Raigad district of Maharashtra .
During monsoon the waterfall is really huge and that is the best time to visit .
Garbett plateau trek, Matheran - 18th August 2019
This is one of the most beautiful treks in Matheran and also very accessible. It offers a 360 degree view of the entire Matheran range from the top.
Starting from Bhivpuri railway station, the trail alternates between flat and very steep patches thereby making it challenging yet fun trek.
Nongriat Rainbow waterfall trek - 10th December 2019
The first time we saw the photos of this trek we thought this is just insane something like this can't exist . And once we experienced it we still couldn't believe it ❤️
It's a difficult trek for beginners . It can be done in one day but that's not enough justice for the place so we spent full 2 days just in the jungle.
Peb fort, Matheran - 27th September 2020
Peb fort, also known as Vikatgad, rises to a maximum altitude of 2,050 ft. The unique location of the hill affords it a panoramic view of the entire Matheran range.
A temple has been constructed at the top of the fort and is believed to shelter the footprints of Swami Samarth.
Brahmatal trek, Uttarakhand - 15th December 2020
First Himalayan trek ❤️
Have written enough about this beautiful trek in my blog, check that out for the detailed itenary and experience.
Kalsubai trek, Maharashtra - 28th February 2021
Everest of Maharashtra, as it is the highest peak in Maharashtra at 5,400 ft.
We started the climb at night so that we can experience the sunrise from the top of Maharashtra. The Kalsubai devi Temple at the summit of the peak draws people from the nearby villages throughout the year.
Malana village trek, Himachal Pradesh - 28th March 2021
This village is still disconnected from the world .They have their own democracy and own rules . You are not allowed to touch or sit on most of the things and also you are not allowed to stay in the village . It's a 1 hour drive from Kasol and then 1 hour hike to the village . These guys have preserved their culture really well and it's good to experience that.
Kheerganga trek, Himachal Pradesh - 30th March 2021
This trek was always there in my bucket list. It can be done in one day but we stayed up there one night. Best part of this trek is the Hot water spring and the story of Shiva temple .
Kothaligad Peth Fort, Karjat - 13th June 2021
Back in the mountains after the summer and was going to start yet another trekking season of 2021 .
It was supposed to be a monsoon trek but nature had some different plans and we didn't get rain but it was still worth it ☺️💯 . Felt good to be back in mountain ❤️
Aadrai Jungle Trek, 1st August 2021
Hands down this is the best village I have visited in Maharashtra and also the good part was that this trail was explored just 4 months back and the village is not commercialized yet .
The weather was crazy, super windy and heavy rains and waterfalls everywhere . Wanted a proper adventurous into the nature monsoon hike and this was just perfect ❤️
Aadrai ❤️ will come back for you.
Khaliya Top Trek, Munsiyari Uttarakhand
This is a one day hike from Munsiyari. You get an amazing view of Snow capped Himalayan mountains . Also you can see the Panchchuli peaks, which are a group of five snow capped mountains. We were supposed to stay one night at the top but the temperature was around - 2 degrees and it was unbearable, so we came down to Munsiyari at night .
It is not recommended to descent at night so please take your decision wisely 😝
Kalavanti Durg Trek, 21st August 2021
It is definitely one of the risky and adventurous climbs in Maharashtra. It has almost 80° degree stairs and also very steep climbs . In monsoon it's usually very windy and the fort is covered in clouds . It still feels like dream after completing this hike ❤️
Nanemachi waterfalls, Raigad 5th September 2021
This was the fourth trek of the Monsoon season in 2021 and I wanted to go to a location which is not much explored and also there is no crowd . I found a group who just goes to offbeat location and it was perfect .
Nanemachi is quite far from Mumbai but the waterfall is really gigantic . Trek is not difficult at all but it really dangerous near the waterfall. It was really a good experience .
In gokarna all the beaches are not accessible via road and you need to hike and reach the beach. It was a very unique experience to hike a mountain and encounter beautiful beaches.
