Day 1

Day - 1 -> Delhi- Rajkot-Bhuj

1 hour 45 minutes Flights from New Delhi to Rajkot followed by 230 km Drive from Rajkot Airport takes you to Bhuj . Hectic 1st day ? Well surely yes , but it is totally worth it , thanks to the good condition of roads throughout Gujrat. Moreover, to witness the divine early morning natural aesthetics of Rann of Kutch (the immensely popular White Desert of Gujrat) it is recommended that you stay in any resort at Dhordo - which is about 85 km from Bhuj.

Day 4 : Ahmedabad - Visit to Statue of Unity

After little early breakfast, you may plan to drive for immensely popular & relatively new attraction - Statue Of Unity.

After reaching Bhuj and checking-in a Hotel of your choice , gift yourself a cosy sleep for superb vacation feel ahead as a visit to famous Swaminarayan Temple & Hamisar Lake awaits you next morning.

Since it is located very near to the Pakistan border, there is an Army post at the top beyond here, only military personnel are allowed.

After Dungar , its time to proceed for Dhordo . On reaching Dhordo , you may choose from a number of Resorts but if you are travelling during Rann Utsav then please do pre-book your resort to avoid inconvenience .

We stayed at the White -Rann Resort and it was excellent in all respect - front desk, services, cleanliness, comfort in Tent Stay , evening cultural show , though food could have been more sumptuous .But overall, it was a great stay, all thanks to Ms.Trupti Roy from De Voyager .

Unfortunately , owing to heavy torrential rains on the preceding night, we could not capture salt formation .So do go through weather report once !

Next, Plan a visit to Aina Mahal , Prag Mahal , Sharad Baug Palace, Kutch Museum, Vande Matram Memorial & little easy-on-pocket Shopping at Vania Bazar before eventually proceeding for Ahmedabad where you can find best of Hotels to stay in & best of restaurants to dine at. Ahmedabad is about 400 km from Dhordo. While Touring Gujarat, substantial travel is involved so please be ,mentally prepared to consider travel /drives in between as part of your vacation only . Like mentioned earlier, roads throughout Gujarat make sure that your drive is comfortable.

State of Unity is dedicated to one of India's founding fathers, and the country's first Deputy Prime Minister, SardarVallabhbhai Patel, the Statue of Unity, stands tall atop Sadhu Bet island on the Narmada facing the Sardar Sarovar Dam downstream in Kevadiya colony, about a 100 kilometres southeast of Vadodara.

Of the five zones the statue is segregated into only three are open to public viewing. The first level entails the base going all the way to the statue's shins, comprising a museum cataloging Sardar's Patel's contributions, and a memorial garden. Zone 2 goes up to the statue's thighs at 149 metres. The viewing gallery, affording expensive views of the Narmada and the surrounding Satpura and Vindhyachal ranges, forms the third level. Zone 4 and 5 are the highest levels, and serve as the maintenance area.

It is highly recommended that you book your tickets for State of Unity online beforehand and reach there as early as possible to avoid insane rush , especially during peak tourist season.
