I booked this trip through The Hosteller (Ex-Delhi). So I booked flights to and from Delhi myself and then all of the things were included in the Hosteller trip package. I boarded flight from Hyderabad (RGIA) at 11:50 AM to New Delhi (IGI) on 29th May 2019.
Arrived at New Delhi (IGI) at 2:10 PM. Then took a metro from Aerocity Metro Station to reach Majnu kaa Tilla bus stand from where I had my bus booked to Kasol at 7 PM.
After a long 13 hours overnight journey, I reached Bhuntar at 8 AM in the morning on 30th May 2019, from where there was a cab arranged by The Hosteller to get us from Bhuntar to Kasol which takes around 1 to 1.5 hours as the road conditions were not ideal.
So finally reached Kasol at around 9:30 AM where I checked in into The Hosteller, a backpacker hostel. They have these amazing 4 beds-sharing dorms with bunk beds which was super cool. I was travelling as a solo-traveler for first time and the Hosteller accommodation was new and amazing experience for me.
So after having breakfast, the whole group of travelers who arrived on the same day departed for Manikaran. Manikaran is famous for the beautiful scenic views of Parvati River, Sahib Gurudwara and Hot Water Springs.
Later that day after visiting Manikaran and having our lunch at the Sahib Gurudwara's langer, we went for Chalal Trek Trail which is around a 40 to 50 minutes trail with awesome scenic views of pine forests, Parvati valley and Parvati river. The trail ended at the famous Freedom Cafe where you can have all the local delicacies of Kasol (including everything). You can enjoy great food, music and amazing scenery from this cafe. Then we enjoyed a little bit of the Kasol streets and went back to The Hosteller for the night.
So on the my 3rd day of the trip, we had a delicious breakfast (Aloo Parathas) in the morning and then we departed for Barshaini which is a small but charming village with flowing Parvati river in the middle of two valleys and the views from the Barshaini Dam are just exquisite. From this point we started our trek for Kheerganga which is a 12 KM trek and it's a moderate difficult level of trek. This was my first legit trek which I am proud that I completed in around 5 hours. The landscape is just amazing, I mean you will find trails in the woods, crossing waterfalls, climbing ladders, having maggi & tea (chai) near waterfalls and the views from this trek are just awesome. This is a place where you will find peace and calm far away from the city hustle and corporate jungle. And when we reached the top just at the time of sunset, OMG what a view! I cannot express that view in words, it was just mind-blowing. We had a short picture clicking session there and then we headed straight for the Sulphur Hot Spring. Here you can enjoy the amazing infinity pool kind of vibe while loosing all your tiredness and body ache due to the 6 hours trek. And after getting refreshed at the Hot Springs, we headed back to our campsite where food and music was arranged with bonfire where we all relaxed the night away while star gazing and watching the milky way sky. The sky was crystal clear and you can see a legit milky way which you will never be able to see in cities due to the air pollution of course.
Then next day we woke up early in the morning to see the crack of dawn through the Himalayas Mountain Range. It was a breathtaking view when the sun rises from behind the valley I mean it was a something that we all drew in our school days while drawing a landscape. So after that we had our breakfast at the campsite and then we headed back for Barshaini from where we headed back to The Hosteller Kasol. From there I went back to Bhuntar to catch the bus for Delhi.
I reached Delhi in the morning and then from there I headed back to Hyderabad by flight. Well I will recommend this trip in the months of March to Mid August to beat the heat of city life. And I will also suggest to go for Tosh after completing the Kheerganga Trek.
