But planning a trip also becomes tough because not everyone is rich. You have limited budget to hangout and chill which makes going far off tough. So, we decided to sort it out for you with a list of mind-blowing destinations not very far from your own University which you can take in a shoe-string budget:
1. Delhi University
Delhi University has a great location when it comes to planning a trip. You can pack your bags, take a metro or an auto to Kashmere Gate, and leave for an exotic destination in Himalayas for a chill trip which won't make any major difference on your pocket:
(i) Mandi, Himachal Pradesh – You wanted to go to Kasol, right? Don't. Kasol is no longer as cheap as it used to be in its pre-discovery days. Instead, take an overnight HRCTC bus from Kashmere Gate to Mandi for 400 bucks, and visit some of the most beautiful hidden spots in Himachal. You can choose to stay with warm-hearted locals at their home in Baggi and trek to Parashar or just chill at the bank of Beas river in the town. There are some very cheap restaurants and bars too in the city with amazing food.
Budget: Rs. 1500-2000 for 2 Days & 1 Night
(ii) Mussoorie – Take an overnight Uttarakhand Tourism bus to Mussoorie for Rs. 350. Take walks on serpentine roads overlooking the valleys, and dig into the street food. Do not miss to take a shower in the Kempty Falls. If you like solitude, just take a walk ahead of the city centre and peaceful forests will meet you.

(iii) Amritsar – Reach the holy city of Amritsar by taking an overnight train or bus. There are extremely cheap dormitories available in the city next to the Golden temple. You can visit Wagha Border too by public transport. The return fare is just 100 bucks.

2. Christ University
If you are studying at Christ, you are more likely to have a little better financial scenes than your counterparts elsewhere. But who doesn't want to make the most of their money! Visit these places on a low budget:
1. Hogenakkal Falls – Take a bus from Majestic Bangalore to Hosur, and then to Hogenakkal. The journey takes about 4 hrs. There are many budget stays near the beautiful waterfall.

2. Srirangapatna – While Mysore may be an obvious weekend getaway choice, but why not try a bit offbeat. Visit Tipu Sultan's capital for a cultural extravaganza. It takes about 2.5 hrs to reach Srirangapatna from Bangalore by train or bus.

3. Lepakshi – It takes about 4 hrs to reach Lepakshi from Bangalore by bus. If you love history and sunshine, you can visit this place for a day trip.

3. Jadavpur University
The feisty students of Jadavpur University might like to spend their holidays soaking in the festivity of Durga Puja. However, if you plan to celebrate it differently this year, you may want to take a trip to:
1. Mandarmani – It takes only 200 bucks from Kolkata to reach Mandarmani beach by bus. It is one of the less visited beaches in Odisha and you may find some time to be all by yourself.
Budget: Rs. 1500-2000 for 2D/1N
2. Sundarbans – A wildlife tour into the largest mangrove forest of the world. Wouldn't you like to take a boat ride here, and spot some rare animals or the majestic Royal Bengal Tiger itself? The entry ticket to Sunderbans is nominal, and you can spend a day here.

3. Sevoke – Take an overnight train or bus to Siliguri, and then get a share cab to Sevoke. Settled beside the gorgeous Teesta river in the foothills of Himalayas, this is an offbeat destination meant for college goers.

4. Mumbai University
1. Majivali – Greenery, waterfalls and nothing to do but just chill. That is all about Majivali. It takes only 2 hrs to come here to forget the hectic schedule of your Mumbai life. There are many camping option available in Majivali.

2. Daman – Don't tell me that you haven't planned to have a drunk trip with your friends. But Goa can e a little over budget. So why not try a cheaper beach destination! Daman comes to your rescue.
Budget: Depends on your thirst for booze. We would recommend spending Rs. 1500-2000 here.
3. Pawna Lake – Take a quick train ride to Lonavala for as cheap as Rs. 150 and camp beside the beautiful Pawna lake. If you haven't seen flyers in your campus advertising weekend trips to Pawna, you probably have very low attendance.
Budget: Rs. 1200-1500 for 2D/1N.
5. Benaras Hindu University
While it is difficult to avoid the buzz and the bizarre that shrouds the city during the autumn break, if you feel some wanderlust, this is where you can satiate it.
1. Devdari Waterfall – Take a bus to Robertsganj from Varanasi, and then a public transport to Chandraprabha Wildlife Snactuary. Devdari Falls is within the sanctuary, and it takes only 2 hours from Varanasi to reach here.
Budget: Rs. 300-500 for a day trip
2. Lumbini – Nepal isn't very far from Varanasi. You can take an overnight bus to Sunauli, and then spend another hour to reach Lumbini, the birthplace of Gautam Buddha.
Budget: Rs. 1500-2000 for 2D/1N
3. Rewa – The beautiful city of Rewa in Madhya Pradesh is quite unexplored but really pretty. Dotted with unusual palaces and temples, and boasting of a unique geology, Rewa should be on your travel bucket. You can get a direct bus to Rewa from Varanasi. The journey takes 6 hours, and costs you Rs. 300 by state transport bus.

6. NALSAR
Students from Hyderabad awaiting this term break eagerly have a wide range of budget destinations to choose from. But these are some of the most amazing ones.
1. Nallamala Forest – Take a bus to Srisailam from Hyderabad and enjoy the dense forests and hidden waterfalls of Nallamala forest. The journey takes only 5 hours. You can camp in the forest or find a cheap accommodation near the pilgrimage centre.

2. Yanam – This French town is a part of the Union Territory of Puducherry. However, it is just 500kms from Hyderabad, and it takes just an overnight journey to reach here. The interesting town has a mix of French and local culture, and has some clean beaches too.

3. Mahbubnagar – This unusual location is worth a visit for its unusual offerings – a giant banyan tree, beautiful reservoir lake, tribal villages and a tiger reserve. The small 3 hour journey is the best part.

7. Panjab University
If you are from Panjab University, it's quite likely that you have already done a road trip with your friends to Shimla on a Sunday. There is no dearth of options near Chandigarh to travel to, these are, however, some fascinating places that you must visit.
1. Churdhar – Take a bus to Sirmour from Panjab, and then trek to Churdhar Peak. It is one of the less popular treks in Himachal, but has some of the magnificent views.

2. Swarghat – Another off-beat destination in Himachal, Swarghat is the ideal place to chill and do nothing. Take a bus to Manali and get down at Swarghat a few minutes before Bilaspur.

8. Nirma University
If you are in Ahmedabad, you might want to stay in the city to bombard your senses with the cultural razzmatazz that Navratri brings to the city. However, if you have other plans, these locations are considerable:
1. Nal Sarovar – You can get a bus or public from Ahmedabad to Nalsarovar via Sanand. The distance is just 60kms. This bird sanctuary offers you great opportunities for photography and soaking in some natural bliss.

2. Khambhat – The gulf of Cambay or Khambhat is the nearest sea-bound place close to Ahmedabad. The distance is just 90km.

3. Diu – The Union Territory of Diu comes as a relief to the liquor lovers of the dry state. Diu is known for its cheap booze, rugged coastline, clean beaches and the Portuguese influence on its culture.

9. Anna University
It is still hot there down south, so why not visit some cool places which are chill on pockets too:
1. Jawadhu Hills – Take a bus from Chennai to Tirupattur and another bus to Jawadhu Hills. The rocky terrain offers some beautiful streams to spend your evening at.

2. Yercaud – Camp on hills in Yercaud which is directly connected with Chennai by buses. At an altitude of 1600 metres above sea level, you can expect to enjoy a nice bonfire night here.

10. Symbiosis
The students of Pune know how to have a great time. The availability of some scenic spots and beautiful trek routes makes college life fun for them. If you have not already been bit by the bug of wanderlust in Pune, these places might get you excited:
1. Dhom Lake – A royal blue lake amidst the rugged Sahyadris, Dhom lake is the perfect place to chill with your friends. It is as easy to get to this place as getting a ride within the city.

2. Kataldhaar – There are some gorgeous waterfalls around Lonavala. Kataldhaar has many waterfalls, and picturesque Buddhist ruins.
